Hi All
I have just started to make my own Vit C serum at home.
I originally used the propylene glycol, but then switched it to the glycerin as this is a natural substance (because I was a little concerned re the reports about the propylene glycol).
However the glycerin is much richer and thicker. My question is should I be putting a moisturiser on top or am I ok to leave just the serum on?
With the glycerin in it I don't feel as though I need any moisturiser on top, but wondered if I still need to put it on for further benefits?
TIA

If your formula uses pure glycerin, you probably don't need a mositurizer unless your skin is very dry, or live in a very dry climate. Glycerin is a humectant - it draws mositure from the air and bonds with it. So it really is nota moisturizer per se, but in a way actually hydrates better than most moisturizers. It really depends on personal preference. If your face is feeling too tacky from the glycerin, using a mositurizer over top of your c serum may reduce the stickiness & give your face a smoother feeling. |

thanks Darren
although my skin does feel tacky it's nothing that I can't handle as I only use it at night.
