Well it's really humid and hot where i am today and these next few days, and my face just "POURS" out the oil on my face (pun intended =P)
Since my face blushes red very easily, under circumstances like heat, sun, exertion, etc...etc...(i have mild-to-moderate rosacea...sucks:?)...i mean i cant exactly use toner every 2-3hours or wash my face all the time throughout the day...any suggestions would be appreciated... |

Since my skin is suffering out in the heat as well...(I flush easy under hot humid weather as well), my suggest is rather simple: Avoid it at all costs. Since i have the luxury of A/C in my house...and just got my A/C fixed in my car...that is my way to avoid the discusting pinkish reddish tint to my face and people going "Are you alright?" my boyfriend knows best to keep me out of heat...my poor body and face cannot take it... |

I'm not all that oily and I've never tried them but what about blotting papers? It is hot and humid down here and I keep from being too shiny with T LeClerc pressed powder. That might turn to paste on really oily skin though. |

forgot to mention..when i do get oil on my skin, I use clearisel's oil blotting papers...the are blue and dont have the nasty white powder stuff on them...they absorb and you can see the wet oil marks on the sheets so you know they are soaking them up...very useful to have, though you might use them on rather quickly (no quicker than any other oil sheets..) |

When I belonged to a gym I had this great cooling scarf I just hung around my neck (very light). The cooling lasted for a long time. Forget the name of it but do a search on the net. As I can remember you activated it by soaking it in water. Loved it during those hot, humid days when I would take my dogs for walks.
I can deal with the hottest of days but the humidity kills me.

Blot and don't moisturize. Try that. What else can a person do about hot, humid weather? |

blotting papars are cool; personally, when i need to remove excess oil i just a kleenex or toilet paper, seems to do just fine |

jacob - what about trying ylang ylang oil? After reading about it on the forum, I'm tempted to try it myself for summer oiliness. I'm just not sure which brand/type to try. You may want to do a search. |

Try a good oil controlling product. I like La Mer's oil control lotion. Also Jan Marini's anti-oxidant sunscreen is really good at controlling the oilies. |

I have always found that tissues work better than oil blotting papers also. |

In *emergency* situations, when I have used tissues, I find that it seems to disturb my makeup more than blotting papers, and sometimes leaves tissue on your face...which is NOT cute .
Just my opinion... |

charlie ill also look into Jan Marini's anti-oxidant sunscreen...since i do need sunscreen as well.
Dolly with my luck, the tissue will stick to my face...the lil bits at least ...never gave that much thought...but it's better than letting myself oil up throughout the day.
Faith, i dont think makeup is a conern for me...at least it shouldn't be and won't be lol |

I agree with Faith - blotting papers are way better than tissue - they don't stick to the skin, they don't disrupt make-up and I think they are a much better idea than layering any kind of blotting powder on the skin.
