Hi All,
I was wondering if you could help me please I'm 27 and have medium-dark combination skin. I'm looking at basically just improving my skin care regime. My main concern is maintaining youthful skin and preventing those lines and wrinkles from slowly creeping in. I've been reading loads on these forums, so am now thoroughly confused and would really appreciate some help!
I currently only cleanse, tone and moisturise.
Assuming I keep up with the cleansing and toning, I'm currently torn between 2 options. Which would you recommend:
1) Vit C serum
OR
2) using the JB line skin prep, AlphaDerma CE
OkuSil.
I quite like the reviews on both, but am not sure at what sort of age i should be starting any of this. Does anyone have any recommendations please?
Thanks all! |

I'm a year younger than you and I started vitamin c serums earlier this year. Vit C is more preventative and in my opinion alphaderma is more corrective. |

Tough choice! I agree with Lianne that the ADCE is seen as a corrective product but on the flip side it also prevents deeper frowning (or it makes it more difficult - I DID feel my muscles being kinda weaker when I wanted to frown... weird feeling!) and that means that it might actually prevent future frown lines.
I am a very big fan of vitamin C so given those two choices I would go with a stronger vitamin C serum. Mind you, ADCE also has some vit C in it (5%). What I would also strongly recommend is some sunblock. The sun is one of the main culprits in causing wrinkles so it makes sense to protect yourself from the harmful radiation (not to mention preventing skin cancer!). Another thing to consider is something to exfoliate your skin with. Not only will a scrub (or some other form of exfoliant) make your skin feel smoother and look better, it also helps your skin get more out of the products you put on it (absorption). |
