I've decided to give the Vit C-serum from Vivier a try, although I don't know which one yet. Maybe the one with Kinetin in addition, has anyone tried it?
I don't have any real skin issues, but I am curious, and whenever my skin is irritated, I apply one of the Multivitamin capsules from Dermalogica, and they improve my skin overnight. So I'm curious to see the results of pure vit. C.
But do I really need a B5 hydrating gel in addition? At the moment, my skin is pretty normal, and I only use the Skin Smoothing Cream from Dermalogica. At night, I use the MD Formulations Facial Cream with glycolic acid.
Thanks a lot |

I think that the hydrating gels compliment the C serum, but they are not necessary. Depending on the C serum, some experience dryness, but I have heard Vivier is very good for dry skin!! If you do get any dryness, moisturizer will still be ok too!! |

Thanks a lot for your reply. I guess I could try the serum first, and then buy the B5-gel if my skin gets drier. Or even change to my heavier moisturizer, as I'm using the lighter summertime moisturizer right now.
I think there's a new EDS order coming up now. Bad for my bank account, but life's too short for such thoughts |

I totally agree!! I found that when I started using an HA serum after my C, I didn't even need moisturizer anymore. |

I thought that the B5 gel was mainly recommended for use with the Skinceuticals Vitamin C serums. I've got the Vivier one and the instructions don't say anything about using a B5 gel.
I emailed Vivier and asked them if I needed to use a B5 gel before I purchased it and they said no. Still, I suppose it all depends on your skin type. Mine is oily/combination and so I don't need the extra moisture. My Decleor Hydra Floral sorts out all my moisturisation needs. |

The Vivier is supposed to be good for dry skin, so I don't think it will be necesary to use a B5 gel if you have normal skin. I use the Skinceuticals one, but because I have oily skin I don't really need any extra moisture. Besides, the B5 gel isn't that cheap, so I would wait and see if your skin gets any drier, and if it does, then get it later. |

I've been using C+ firming serum for a long time and have never found that I needed the hyaluronic acid to follow. I think the skinceuticals folks may recommend that because their formula has water in it and can be a bit drying to the skin. The B5 prevents that. |

Oh, thank you, people I just ordered the Vivier vit. 10-serum and a new bottle of Phytomer Face Dew. Hopefully, my skin will do well with vit. C, as I want to give it a little extra in the months to come. I'm submitting my dissertation in November.... |

If you have normal skin and you ordered the Vivier (or the CSRx or the JB C&C for that matter) then you probably won't need the B5 gel. Had you gone the way of Cellex-C or Skinceuticals (which feel more drying) you might have needed something extra. |

I'm in total agreement with Mabsy - I can't imagine needing B5 serum with any of the Vivier serums (even the C20!)unless you have particularly dry skin - the texture is eons away from that of Skinceuticals or Cellex-C ...but I must say that my most recent bottle of Cellex C feels different in texture from past bottles...it has more "tack" -- when I looked at the ingredient list it said that it contained hyaluronic acid....which I think is different from the past formulation...

Have you tried Henry Tianus Antioxidant Youthful Essence. It contains a stabilised form of Vitamin C (20%), pro-vitamin B5, organic botanical cokctails. It is excellent to firm and give a natural healthy glow. Have been using it for weeks and certainly on my top must have product list. |

you know how babies have that plump dewy look to their skin? well, hylauranic acid is what gives that appearance, it is something that our body naturally reproduces but dissipates as we age. The B-5 can hold 100x it's weight in water and will also make your following moisturizer even that more effective, if the number one anti aging product is sunscreen, than number 2 is moisturizer. |

I have dry skin and use skinceuticals CE plus F. I have the hydrating B5 gel, and am surprised that I don't feel the need to use it. I used the B5 gel for the first week, then didn't use it for a couple of days....one less step in the AM when trying to get to work on time!!! The past five weeks or so, I take the time to add it to my AM routine on the weekends, but not during the week. |

When I used Cellex C or Skinceuticals I had to use the B5 gel over the top, I have tried samples of the Vivier though andd didn't feel the need for anything other than my sunblock or moisturiser/SPF. Currently using the Vit C serum from PSF Skincare as its in a base of Hylauronic acid - best of both worlds! |
