Hi
I bought 60 ml bottle of this in January. The liquid is now an orange colour - is it still ok to use? Still got a third of the bottle left...

Can you check the ingredients list whether they use a stabilised form of vitamin C or not. If not, it may be powerless by now (A change in colour is a sign of oxidized product). A standard form of vitamin C is only last for few weeks (2-3 weeks) in the product. So when you buy vit C serum looks for a product which contains of Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, a stabilised form of Vit C which remain powerful for up to 2 years. Also, you need to store it in cool, dry and dark place away from sunlight or spotlight. I used to use Cellex C, since 2,5 months ago, I have been using Henry Tianus Antioxidant Youthful Essence which contains of 20% stabilized form of Vit C. My skin loves it! I have never had a C serum for that long... I think someone said once that the smell will change too, and that is when you shouldn't use it anymore. I generally use mine for 2-3 months. The colour does change, but not to orange. If I were you, I would toss it. I know it sucks, but that is the problem buying salon sizes sometimes. |

There's so much controversy around vitamin C degradation....I'd just use the remainder on the tops of my hands...just in case there is some potency left...
