I have been using this gel for about a month now twice a day. I had to wait this long before posting this review for I wanted to truly feel satisfied with the result before sharing with you my 'good find'.
I have typical oily/ combination skin with whiteheads on the forehead ( about 7 or , blackheads on the nose, minor dryness on the cheeks and medium size pores around my nose.
These 'problems', of course, won't kill me if I ignore them, but as a 'born beauty junkie', they are good reasons for me to try anything that will say ' clear and smooth your skin'. So, MD Formulations promised me that and now I'm hooked.
It's oil free and very light weight lotion containing AHA, BHA and Retinol-pure Vitamin A. The second I put it on my face, I feel that it just instantly absorbed and quickly get into action without giving my skin any irritation or allergic reaction ( I have very sensitive skin).
After one month, those whiteheads, one by one, started to be raised to the surface, dried up and easily exfoliated ( I could pick one or two tiny sand-like beads that were hanging there off my skin).
My blackheads are not so visible any more, and after a bi-weekly extraction, they seem not to come back in full force like they used to do.
And amazingly, my skin doesn't feel so dry or pulled, it's just moist where it used to be dry and clear where it used to be oily.
I really love this MD Formulations. I got it as a gift in the MD Formulations Kit for Problem-Prone Skin that also containing one cleanser, one eye cream, one hydrate complex gel, and one total sun protector 30. It lasts me for more than a month, I still have more than half of everything after 5 weeks.
For only $59.00 CAD a kit, I'm so glad I found it and use it as a perfect basic protection and I can save my money to spend on those 'specialty cream' like Valmont to make my skin look more ...fabulous! ( this row of 7 smileys means I'm happy 7 days a week with MD Formulations :P) |

Thanks for that review Leila. Yet another product to add to the list of things to try!
One question, do you use moisturiser over this?
Mabsy. |

Hello Mabsy!
Yes, I do use some moisturizer only on my cheeks over this. My skin, very weird, seems to do just fine without moisturizer. Many times, when I feel dry, I just put some hydrating cream on my face for about 20 mins, then I wipe it off. If I leave it too long or overnight my face will become too oily. It seems like it can't breath with any heavy coating of cream. Don't know why |

Hi Leiladao
Is this a spot treatment, or do you put it all over?
I really can't decide if I should buy this or the Yonka Juvenil??!! I'm a bit scared of over-drying my face (normal to dry, but sensitive), but I also want to get rid of my whiteheads.
Love reading your reviews!

Hi Ramsi!
I'm happy you like to read my reviews. I will post more after trying quite a few interesting new things I just got from my last two parcels:D
My skin is oily/ combination and very sensitive, very reactive ( oily on t-zone, dry on cheeks, reactive under eyes and sensitive...uhm...anywhere).
You should know everytime I try something new, especially those 'treatment' stuff with AHA or BHA or Retinol, I always feel nervous and I have to really sit still and 'listen' to my skin for at least 10 mins before letting it stay on my skin overnight. If I feel any irritation or burning sensation, I run real quick and rinse my face right away with cold water and reach for my PTR Aloe Cort to prevent redness and swolling ( esp. around my eyes ).
It seems this MD Formulations is safe for my skin. I use just one small drop for all over my face then another drop extra on my t-zone. I did spot treatment once or twice but I didn't like the way the skin right there became kind of 'shinier and pinkish' than the rest of the face, but to me I think the gel knows exactly where to work harder. It sounds weird but it seems to know its targets ( or my purpose;)) if you understand what I'm trying to ...explain here :P:P:P
I think you should ask for some samples and try it first to see if it works for you. I'm still using it now only at night and only on my forehead and my nose and never put it too close to my eyes. I'm very happy with it and my whiteheads now came down to just only 3, seriously... |
