I'm about to head to the US on holidays for 3 months (yay me!! Dancing ) so I won't be able to buy my my oils and other ingredients for carekate's homemade products from my usual health food store. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could tell me of a reliable and reasonably priced website I could buy such things from. Thanks Very Happy

I lovewww.thepersonalformulator.com andwww.aroma-pure.com. They both do international shipping, although aroma-pure only charges the actual cost of shipping, which they will notify you of before you complete your order so you can decide if it’s worth it, instead of charging a ridiculously inflated flat-fee like many other websites that ship overseas.

If you’re going to making or experimenting with a ton of homemade products (i.e.: to sell or giveaway to friends), then you’re better off ordering from The Personal Formulator because they sell their items in bulk. But if you’re only making stuff for your own personal use, or your recipe only calls for 1 drop of this or 1 drop of that, it would probably be better to order from Aroma-Pure because they offer much smaller sizes in their essential oils and related supplies.

But both companies are fantastic and I order regularly from both of them.

If I may make a suggestion: depending upon how long you’ll be in the States, you might think about placing an order and having it shipped to your hotel, or whereever it is that you’ll be staying, because orders arrive very quickly (3 days maximum) within the U.S., and this way you wouldn’t have to pay whatever the fees are for international shipping....

Yes, Whole Foods carries a great many essential oils (although not some of the more “obscure” oils, as I’ve discovered), but they are REALLY overpriced. I would only buy from Whole Foods as an absolute last resort, simply because of the prices they charge when their EOs are the same quality as from the websites I listed. Even when you factor in the cost of shipping, you still come out better with PF or Aroma-Pure....

Thanks carekate, I think that's what I'll do. I'm staying with friends across the US for the whole 3 months but I'll be based in VA so I can have all my goodies shipped there Very Happy

I've been viewing all of the threads for the past couple of days, so I guess it's my turn to reciprocate!!

This is my favorite local store (Seattle, WA), but I see all of their prices online and it says you can place an order by phone. Their prices are some of the best I've found and the quality is good.

Hope it helps,
