Hi Everyone
Not been around for a while, been to Spain, and also my cat has been seriously ill, not to mention my partners mum being diagnosed with Alzheimers so its been mega hectic...
it was my birthday a few weeks ago and my friend has booked me in for a Guinot (hope I've got this spelling right) facial on saturday?
Has anyone ever used these products??..The salon also uses Clarins products and I just wondered which make of products do you think are best? I'm undecided!!
Thank you
Suzanne |

Welcome back Gucci! I'm sorry to hear about all the stress you're going through right now though!
I don't have much experience with Guinot (I think I've only tried their eye gel) but I've tried quite a few Clarins products over the years though and have not been particularly impressed (apart from one moisturiser maybe).
Enjoy your facial, and a belated Happy Birthday! |

Hello Gucci! I just found this forum today and I am so excited to have found it!
I use Guinot cream for both my day and night moisturizer and I love it. It is a bit pricey but it has worked wonders on the wrinkles around my eyes. I am in the sun a lot and I have extremely dry skin. This is the first product that I have found that gives my face all the moisture it needs.
However, all that being said, I went to my dermatologist yesterday and she told me that my skin is blotchy because of how much I am in the sun. She gave me a sample of Kinerase to try……….which is how I found this forum. I want to look around and make sure I am using the best products for my skin. I did read another posting were someone said that Kinerase is not good for extremely dry skin so I am not sure if I am going to spend the money and try it or just keep using Guinot and doing research.
Please let me know if you have started using Guinot and what you think about it. Thanks!! |

Hi Shelley,
Welcome to the forum. If I may offer some advice for the blotchiness, it would be a Vit C serum. It will not give instant results, but it really does work to improve tone eveness, as well as clarity and texture. Fights free radicals too!! |

Hi Shelley
The assistant did indeed talk me into having the Guinot facial.
As soon as she started to put the products on my face she said "Oh you have sensitive skin" which worried me a little as I had visions of looking like a very ripe tomato!
It tingled a little, and she put about 9 different lotions on my face not telling me what anything was..
I must say my face felt very soft and smooth afterwards and she told me its a good idea to have one every 4 weeks! But to be honest I thought my Decleor and Gatineau and Vit C routine were far better.
My skin didnt look or feel any better than when I do my own routine. |

Hi Faith & Gucci,
Faith: Thanks for the suggestion! Is there any brand you would suggest? How does the Vit C serum fit into my daily routine?
Gucci: Well, it could be that Guinot worked for me because it was a huge step up from the brands I was using before. To be honest, I just recently started caring and getting interested in taking care of my skin. I have always used cleansers and lotions but it wasn’t until about a year ago that my face starting breaking out…..so now I am trying to take better care of it and reverse all the sun damage I have.
Here is what I am doing currently:
- Twice a day cleanser: B. Kamins Chemist
- Dermalogica toner
- at night: Guinot Nutrizone
- for day: Guinot Longue Vie Cellulaire
- exfoliate twice a week with Guinot
- facial (with extractions) once a month like clock work
- for spot reduction: Guinot Pure Balance Mask
My first dermatologist visit was two days ago. She gave me (sorry to repeat myself) Kinerase and Aveeno moisturizer with spf 15 (I have never worn a daily sunscreen). I am worried however; that she is just pushing what her pharmaceutical sales person gives her. She did not really explore my skin she just gave it a brief look over. So I am now using the Kinerase in the mornings and then applying the Aveeno.
Any suggestions and help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!! |

For dry skin, I would try Vivier 10 to start from EDS, or the cellular skin Rx one, fromwww.cellularskinrx.com or the one from PSF,www.pureskinformulations.com . All of these have gotten good review for dry skin.
You just need to apply the Vit C 1 a day. AM or PM. Right now I am using it AM, followed by sunscreen. |

Hi Gucci - I don't know much about Guinot, but I am very familiar with Clarins --- if you are looking for a very spa-like treatment I'd consider the Clarins since they are predominantly a plant-extracted essential-oil based line...if nothing else, the aromatherapy component should be nice and relaxing!
