I surf through ebay from time to time, and have found some great finds. I have purchased some beauty products for next-to-nothing, and have not had any problems. I recently found some Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel (which I have been aching to try) for less than half the retail price on the net. I'm just worried about counterfit products, used products, etc. Have any of you had any experience with this? |

I don't think i've came across fake jurlique on ebay yet, the market for it is still pretty small and to replicate the whole tube, cardboard box and content to similar color and consistency is probably too time wasting. But some higher end brands (or at least more popular ones) do have counterfeits, I've seen fake YSL or chanel palettes floating around on ebay or even mac compacts. But they are usually pretty easy to spot.
If you are interested, Jurlique prints the expiry date on the crimp of the tube or i think on bottom of bottles for most products. Ask the seller to give u the expiry date if you are concerned |

I bought some Lancome makeup that was obviously OLD (rancid), but not sure about whether it was fake?
I only bought one Jurlique item from Ebay and it looked and worked as genuine, and is very fresh (expires some time in 2007). |

Beware. Though many sellers are legitimate, many others are just trying to unload old stock.
I bought a Jane Iredale concealer on Ebay-it was so dried out, it wouldn't even squeeze out of the tube. |

I love EBay but I am cautious of cosmetics and skin care. For example: There have been known reports of fake Janson-Beckett products. There is only one Ebay seller I would buy AlphaDermaCE from. Janson-Beckett product are shrink wrapped. When an item comes to you not shrink wrapped this is a sure sign of "buyer beware." |

I have just bought Alpha Derma CE from Ebay seller Radiancequeen, bought the sample pack from her before and she was very helpful. cost me $77.99 or £50.99 for 4oz (which included postage) Just wonder how she manages to sell it so cheaply? |

Good choice. Radiancequeen is very honest and does sell the REAL THING. |

if they've been registered a while & have good feedback is a good sign. If they are able/willing to answer your questions is another good sign. I've bought a couple of perricone products and they're genuine.
I'm having doubts about something I've bought (non make-up)and not yet received...first time ever using ebay. |

I agree with Eve -- check their feedback and make sure they've been around a while. I've bought Dr. Hauschka on ebay and I've had no problems. |

yup, and ask questions.. I always mail and ask for expiry, whether the product is factory sealed etc.
thre are also a lot of sellers who buy in bulk "damanged" products. Usually this is only the boxing, but sometimes it can be chipped lids etc. Most honest sellers will give details of this though. |
