Skinceuticals VIT C/ Cleanser questions!!!

Hi, I'm a teenager and I was wondering if I should use vit c to help with some of my acne scars, pimples and oily skin? Does it work well for these problems or is just mainly for wrinkles?
as for which brand/product, do you all have any recommendations? (I have oily skin)

Also, has anyone tried skinceuticals simply clean? My current cleanser (ultracalming cleanser) is running out, and i was thinking of getting this. However, i was wondering if it could be a little too harsh for my skin? Furthurmore, I'm using dermalogica's daily microfoliant so will this and that come into conflict? (too much exfoliation as simply clean contains AHA?)

I was thinking of this because I have some scars (small red marks) I want to get rid off and this also seems good in removing make up. Any suggestions?
Since I have oily skin so I don't want to aggravate it to much into major oil producing mode!

I don't know how well it works for acne, if it affects it at all. I have found that when I use my vit C serum in combination with the Dermalogica Microfoliant though, it really helps speed up healing of post-acne marks though (those annoying red/brown ones).

If you have oily skin then I would suggest that you go with a formula like the Cellex-C or Skinceuticals one. I don't think vit C will make your skin less oily (I could be wrong though) but I find the Cellex-C and SC formulations to be drying so you might get some effect purely out of that.

Well i think i should get it then. What level should I start off on? I have a sample of the serum 20, but its turned yellow.

Yellow is fine IMO, I don't use them if they turn orange. I would start with a 10% to be safe. If you only have the 20% then you could dilute that a bit and apply. If you have no problems then you can carefully experiment with using the 20%. My preference would still be to start with a 10%. I started with a 10% Skinceuticals serum and had some slight stinging even though I don't have sensitive skin.

i dont get stinging but i'm afraid it will cause breakouts. even the decloe rylang ylang seems to make my skin bumpy

Make sure that you have a good regular exfoliating routine. That should help with the bumpy feeling. Sounds like a little bit of pore clogging going on.... Have you tried the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream? That stuff is *great* for cleaning out the pores!

but i still have my dermalogica daily microfoliant. how does the cleansing cream compare with that?

Does the cleansing cream serve as a daily exfoliant?

I like both of them. I found that the Microfoliant was a great gentle exfoliator and great at helping to fade marks as well but nothing compares to the Dr H's ability to clear out pores IMO. I used a combination of both - every few days I'd just use Microfoliant instead of the Dr H. You don't need to do that though. Either one should be enough for exfoliation.
