I recently order monave samples (as well as a few other brands previously reviewed) I got the light-medium yellow foundation set. Hyeon is the only colour in it where I really see the yellow, the others are more whitish looking. The foundation itself is super chalky and not finely milled (there were chunks in it). It provides heavy coverage and made any dry patches really stick out (note: not good for hiding crusty zits or wrinkles). It also put a white cast on my face and felt rather thick on. The foundation just did not work for me.
The samples of the eyeshadows and blushes I really liked. They came in baggies which was annoying but the colours are very nice and only a touch is needed. I had also ordered a lip gloss in champagne which is nice. The pot is smaller than I was expecting. I found that mixing a bit of powder in with my MAC lipbalm (the jar one) worked just as well, and was more moisturizing...prolly cheaper too.
Overall, I like monave eyeshadows and blushes (damask blush is nice ,might purchase it), but the foundations were a major diappointment - especially after paying $10 for 4 samples.
After trying everyday minerals, monave and pure luxe I've decided that pure luxe is the mineral foundation for me.. |
