Hi, everybody! Im back from Greece & trying hard to re-adjust to city life & the back-to-school thing. Some of you may know about my melasma problem & how paranoid about it I was before my trip. Well, after all the stuff I armed myself with, I discovered the best sunblock on the small island of Milos-where their choice is limited to say the least.
This is called Total sunblock Antispot face cream, water resistant from Propoline. In short, it works!! I didn't come home the ususal mottled mess. My existing melasma barely changed-I discovered this sunblock a week into my vacation. My melasma was already getting worse even with the application of Anthelios. I barely got a tan on my face-actually I 'allowed" it,carefully monitoring my face every day, but not applying it frequently. Well, my body was getting really dark and I was starting to look strange!! But, my tan (what I got) was even and the dark spots did not get darker. I was on the beach every day (had to be-2 bored kids otherwise) and this is the first time I wasn't cowering under a hat/beach umbrella. I actually let the sun shine on my face!! What freedom!! They also make an eyecream spf 25.I got a free full size tube with every purchase of the sunblock. I can attest to the fact that this works as well since I was starting to get the 'reverse' raccoon look.In the evening I'd use the spf 30 oily/comb. version under my Tarte smooth operator.Funny, their website dosen't seem to include the spf 50 version.
As for ingredients, I noticed (I'm not sure about %-they don't list them ) titanium and zinc oxides and avobenzone. It also contains acerola (?), grape seed, green tea and sunflower. Sold for about 17 euros along with the free eyecream. Really good deal!!
Also, all Is Clinical users. I wanted to jumpstart things when I got back so I started using the active serum & firming cream together at night. Good combo-I don't have sensitive skin. Really smooths the skin. A few days later I read the jar.Apparently, you should't use it over other 'actives'. Oh well, it works great for me. |
