I wanted to try a few purfume samples (True Star, J-Lo, Estee Lauder, White Diamonds)so I thought about purchasing on ebay. However, I noticed that most are charging $2.50 and up per sample for for this tiny vial. I know that it doesn't cost $3.00 to ship this the most 37 cents.
Where are these people getting the samples from and how can I get them without being overcharged?
P.S. I'm located overseas so I don't have access to department stores. |

You should be able to get them in department stores in Japan as well (I'm assuming that's where you are at the moment). These people are getting the samples from the department stores or the companies that distribute the product (if they work for that company). In reality some of them probably work at the dept stores (or other perfume shops) and bring the samples home to sell on eBay. |

They only give out samples in Japanese department stores if you buy something first, in my experience. I could not imagine a Japanese person asking for samples had they not purchased something first...even then, I would be shocked to see them ask. |

Queenbluebee,
I've bought samples on Ebay.
I'm in Canada so they use the same shipping method they would sending them to you in Japan. They never send it for 37 cents. Instead it costs from $0.85 to $1.80 (I don't know why such a difference) plus they always send it in a bubble mailer which also costs some money.
I would try the stores first though. Even if you can't get samples-to-go, you can probably at least spray the perfumes on, can't you? Or do you have to buy something before you're allowed to do that, too? |
