I've been on a skincare quest for a good few years and always on the lookout for good products and a good moisturizer. I have combo skin with some pigmentation issues and large pores -- and EVERYTHING breaks me out.
Obagi -- the best results of all products if you can stand the peeling. My skin never looked better after I completed the program. Even skintone and smaller pores and hardly a breakout. I stopped using it on a regular basis and have had to start up with the Tazorac and Blender again but I'm not having peeling issues because of my Clarisonic and I think because of the Remergent DNA repair. I never stopped use the cleanser. It's the least drying one I have found for my skin.
TNS -- Did nothing.
Kate Sommeville Deep Tissue Repair -- loved it because it was elegant and did not break me out but did nothing for my skin (wrinkes/pores) and was too pricey.
Ferox Pulp -- Did nothing. No plumping. Zilch. Very disappointing.
Skinceuticals C&E with Ferulic Acid-- I don't know if this does anything visable but I need a good C product and my derm (Dr. Lisa Donofrio) highly recommended this. In fact she said the only two products you must use and will get results with are Retin-A or Tazorac and a good C product and this is the C product she recommended. It does give me a nice glow.
Remergent DNA repair -- I have noticed a nice glow, refined pores, plumper hydrated skin and fewer breakouts! I have AK's from sun damage near my lower lip which this is supposed to help with so we'll see what happens to them over time. My lips look more plumped and hydrated from using this on them. It's expensive but I really like the way my skin looks and feels with this product so I will repurchase.
Of course you need your Clarisonic to help with penetration and exfoliation. I couldn't live without it.
One more note... I have an oily t-zone and my chin and nose are an oily mess if five minutes even with LM Mineral Makeup. I can't use any pore minimizers or mattifiers -- they break me out. Someone on another forum recommend using Vagasil Powder on those areas because it has cornstarch and aloe and I'll be darned but it WORKS and it's cheap. |

So glad to hear about the Obagi! Yay! I have been on it about a week.
I have to say that I am only going for products that work. I am so happy for this board and others because this is how I got more info on Obagi and Revitalash.
I don't buy a lot of products (never have, never will) but I will spend as much as I need to for products that truly work!
Thanks so much for posting your results!

Terrific multi-review! I'd been on the fence about the DNA Repair and you helped seal it for me! I'd love to try Obagi, but I (and DH) wouldn't be able to take the peeling.
Did your derm happen to say if ANY retinoid type of product would work (ie Green Cream, Ystheal, etc) or only Retin A? |

Donofrio has offices in New York and New Haven? Do you like her. I've considered going there. |

P.S. I've been using the Remergent DNA repair on and off and I can say it faded a spot under my eye that nothing else seemed to have an effect on. |

You can start the Obagi very slowly. That's what I did. It took longer for results but my feeling was that if I had better skin in 6 months I would be happy -- and I did! My derm didn't say anything aobut retinols. |

I like her very much. She's a great injector for Botox and Resty. |
