Even after my rather disappointing experience with the Avalon deodorant (http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8207), I was still tempted to try some of the other body care range from this company. I actually didn't plan on it as such, but you know how it is - you go into the shop to buy something for someone else and you end up getting a whole lot of things for yourself I bought this shower gel yesterday afternoon and tried it for the first time this morning.
As with the deo - this is not tested on animals, it's all natural, and SLS and paraben free. I used it in the shower this morning with a pair of those scratchy exfoliating gloves and I was very impressed! It smells really nice (minty!), foams up well (though not very well), and also feels slightly minty/tingly on the skin (feels *very* minty on some....um.... more delicate parts of the body ). The minty feeling does go away pretty quickly but I felt really refreshed after showering with this. I haven't tried this yet without the exfoliating gloves but I would say that the gloves would definitely add to the foaming action and probably the tingly feeling too. I didn't notice my skin feeling tight afterwards (and I was too lazy to moisturise). Based on this experience I would definitely try the rest of the Avalon Organics shower gels and I definitely look forward to using the peppermint one particularly in summer.
Looking at the instructions on the bottle, and indeed by the name of it, it can also be used as a bath gel - you're supposed to use 30mL per bath. I haven't tried that yet but I'll give it a go tomorrow night (tonight I'm trying a Phytomer one that I got as a freebie gift from the lovely EDS ladies with the last parcel ).
Btw, 350mL for Au$15. Nice and cheap |
