what is the best way to smooth out the orange peel look in the skin. I have recently noticed this being more noticible on my face. Any treatments you have used to successfully combat this? Thank you |

Just regular exfoliation should do the trick followed by the right amount of moisture.
May I ask what your current routine is? |

I had a patch of orange peel skin on my arm. I used the Apeel correct that is sold on ebay. It has improved it by at least 50%. I'm going to try Obagi next and see if that will help even more. |

I was just about to ask that. What is that?? The only "orange peel skin" I've ever heard of is cellulite but that can't be it! |

Which is probably why I didn't see 'face', just orange peel, and that's cellulite...LOL |

Orange peel skin I am referring to fine lines which run irregularly across the surface of the skin.
Mabsy-My routine is:
monthly - aggressive microdermabrasion cream (BelleDerm)treatment. Usually get a medium to light peel in 2-3 days afterwards with redness for 2 plus days.
Weekly: glycolic acid - leave on 8-9 minutes. Nuetralize apply liquid Vit C. No peel just slight redness for one day after. Thia is not done the week of microdermabrasion treatment.
Daily: (Mornings after shower): Apply "home made" skin lotion containing DMAE powder, alpha lipoic acid powder and ascorbyl palmitate powder (fat soluable vit C) in a vanicream base.
Any other suggestions would be quite welcome. |

skintoner - sounds like you definitely have things covered in the exfoliation department. Could it be then that your skin is just dehydrated from the treatments? Does the roughness diminish after the peels and the microderm or is it pretty much constant throughout? If it diminishes then I'd go with a gentler but more regular exfoliation routine. If it doesn't then I'd look at the moisture issue. |

Maybe a little both here. Have you noticed overall better results with gentler more frequent exfoliations? Also what moisturizer do you like to use? |

I can't really say as I generally use a regular exfoliation routine, rather than more agressive weekly treatments. I am just throwing ideas out there as to what can be causing this for you.
I have normal skin and don't use high % AHAs so I don't tend to need a rich moisturiser. Currently I'm using Photolagen with Replenix serum under it. HTH |
