maybe try a pre-natal yoga class? or swimming? or just plain old walking?
I think it's important to remain active during pregnancy...It makes it much easier for your body to bounce back after birth. Also breast feeding will help with taking weight off afterwards |

I would love to walk lianne, but I'm having a problem with the baby pressing on the large nerve that goes down to the legs, it makes my legs go numb (like pins and needles) and ache if I stand or walk too long, it makes me mad because I love to walk, I can't even walk through a shopping mall without getting numbness and pain.
I am thinking of taking up swimming since it would be less stress on my legs, and I bought a yoga dvd, but I'm kinda of a clutz when it comes to following someone elses moves.
Thanks for your suggestions though, before I became pregnant I could walk 5 miles without any discomfort...hopefully my body will bounce back after having my baby.
I do want to breastfeed if everything goes as planned, so hopefully that will help me to lose the baby fat! |

Hey Moosette,
I gained a total of 50 lbs during my pregnancy. My baby is now 7.5 months and I lost all of the weight. I still have some belly issues but all of it is pretty much off. I think breastfeeding helped expedite the weight loss. I started exercising after she turned 2 months. I worked out like a fiend during 2-3 month but stopped after that (b/c we were staying with in laws and they help me care for her while I ran 2-3 miles and did situps). I noticed most of the weight loss was around the 4th to 5th months postpardum. I didn't do much exercise during pregnancy just walking. I was told that if u started off pregnancy at a relatively low weight that u will be able to shed the weight faster.
Congrats mommy-to-be!! |
