What is unbuffered vit c? Would Vit C crystals (for using in a vit c serum) be unbuffered? How can i tell?
Also, how do I know how acidic my serum is? |

hi daisie,
I really have no idea what you mean by unbuffered Vitamin C. Perhaps you are talking about unbuffered glycolic acid. Unbuffered glycolic acid has a low pH (so very acidic). Buffered means the pH has been increased, by adding other ingredients, so it isn't as acidic.
Your serum would need to be made according to a recipe or ratio of Vit C powder/crystals to a base. So, if you want to make 1oz (30ml) of C serum at 10%, you will have to add (approx.) 3ml l-ascorbic acid. There is a recipe in the DIY with measurements I believe. |
