I've been colouring my hair for awhile now- a bit darker than my nautral colour. Over time it has gotten too dark. (Should have stuck with going to the salon and not doing it on my own!)
Anyhow, about a month ago I went to a hairdresser that came recommended to me and she lifted some of the colour and put lighter "highlights" in so it wouldn't look so dark.
Now I am freaking out b/c the chemical process used to lift the colour from my hair has done some damage and I've had some breakage in those parts.
I'm at the point where I'm ready for another colour on my roots but????
Can anyone suggest anything to help repair my hair? |

I color and highlight my hair, also. To help bring it back to a more normal condition, I use Nexxus Emergencee--it's a protein treatment, I believe, and it works wonders when my hair needs help. If you do try this, remember to use a very rich, deep, nourishing conditioner after. I use this treatment only once every six weeks. I've also found that adding a little olive or jojoba oil to my regular conditioner helps alot when my hair seems dried out. Hope this helps |

Thanks. Where do you get Nexxus? At a salon or drugstore? |

My hair is very damaged at the moment as well... mine happened from a salon as well
I have brown hair and wear it blond with a few brown pieces. when i went in to have my roots done they dont do it in front of a mirror so i thought it felt like she was putting dye on my whole head and well she was. She dyed my whole hair brown. i was so upset, then they had to go re bleach my hair and I left with terrible damaged hair. it was falling out everytime i touched my hair, washed my hair etc.... the salon gave me product called pureology. I would try it for the first while. expecially the nano works... it has protiens that you need. it stopped my hair from falling out. i also use redken anti snap which is a leave in that is not heavy and works on your hair not looking and feeling dry when it is dry and smells great. also helps with breakage |

pureology is the brand. you can go to pureology.com and find out more. I must say though i have had lots of mishaps with my hair. so far pureology has done wonders for repair.... but i have to say that it repairs but your hair will still be damaged. no treatment i have ever used has cured my hair from being damaged. good luck. |

I love the Pureology line for my color-treated hair. I agree that while no product will treat damage 100%, this is a great line that does make a noticale difference. |
