hi dear, i can't answer all your questions, just share my experience with you. I have used the whole set from Kose for more than 6 months. although my skin is comfortable and suitable with them, i did not notice i am brighter than before. but, maybe i need practise longer since i was told the effective ingriendents to whiten your skin tone in Kose line are based on Chinese herb medicines. so it may take a long period to see the desired result. Hope it will work on you!

Hi~ i've used it for abt half year , but didnt see any result so i quit. I think it's a good product since it makes my skin feel very soft and smooth, and my skin didn't have any problems at all.. I agree that i probably take longer to see the results (but i cant wait for that, i wanna try sth new ^^). THis product is very famous is Asia. Many people use it.
I would probably recommend u to go for "Sofina" , the whitening essence. I have heard from many people that it is very good, better than Kose. I mean in term of results.. faster. ^^ Hope this help~~~ |

For result it really depends ... personally find that Kose is quite good in their whitening products. So far they didn't cause any irratation to my skin. The two products which are quite effective: Whitening Solution and Sekkisei Lotion.
Not sure which whitening serum you are refering to, if it's the one from the new line Beauty de Kose... heard some good result about that but i found it's a bit heavy and sticky as compared to Whitening solution. |

Not bad, i only use the 10ml sample given by the sales in HK abt 2 years ago. For me i only use it dark spot as not the whole face. Those dark spots start fading after using for a week and become lighter and lighter. I didn't buy a full size one that time as i feel i don need it after finishing the sample as my tone was quite even already. That tube last for abt 3mths with such usage rate.
Now i'm trying to find it again, but too bad SG does not carry this product. Think i'll get it if i go to HK or Taiwan again. |

Dear All,
I have been using Oriki Skin care line for 2 years and I love it. It has made my uneven skin tone go away in addition to whitening my skin.
I love it. Many who have not seen me noticed a dramatic change and now they use it to.
Oriki is great, my favorite is the oriki rejuvenating cream and the oriki whitening lotion.

Just thought I'd share:
I have been using Kose Sekkisei Lotion masks for 1 year. It's whitening effect is quite gradual and you may not notice it yourself but most people who haven't seen me for sometime comment that I am fairer. However, I do notice that it makes my skin more translucent (not sure it makes sense). Also, the lotion does have a calming effect on the skin - usually my skin appears more radiant the next day after I use the mask.
I also find that a combination of other things works in tandem - like Skinceuticals Retinol - it evens out skin tone quite quickly - so brown spots are less obviously.
I just got back from Osaka and I bought Cilabo - will report back once I have tried it for a while.
Cheers

Jenny,
Yes please educate me on other products. I just want to know how Oriki skin care products compare to the rest. I have been quite happy with oriki, but want to know if other lines are just as good or even better. |

An alternative to Kojic acid is Hydroquinone (in 1% to 2% concentration) which is also a skin lightener but it can be a little harsher that Kojic acid. I've used it on age spots in combination with retinol and an occasional microdermabrasion scrub or gylcolic acid treatment- I alternate these- to control any flaking skin. That combination works for me to even out skin tone. |

You can get the whole Sekkesai line at a Bath & Bodyworks flagship store -- along with another great line, Awake. The training info for the line is all in chinese/japanese (!!!) but I have used it -- the lotion, for a couple years), and liked it very much. Didn't notice as dramatic lightening as when I use hydroquinone, but it did make my skin soft and luminous.
The other day a couple of hip japanese girls came in to buy it, I asked them if they were using it to brighten their skin -- they looked at me like "Crazy American", and replied no, but it was known for giving one very soft smooth skin.
Also -- the samples the company provides are very generous -- yopu can get a cute little pot of cream if you ask. |

hm .... Kose, I remember having a facial using Kose products during my holiday in Asia. This range seems quite popular there. I quite enjoy the facial and did feel the products are really good too (Those black mask did get rid any dirt of my skin). But don't seem to establish any counter in the UK nor any site who delivers the product to the UK apart from strawberry which most of the time doesn't always have a complete range. |

Just a note on hydroquinone...it can be very damaging. In 1 to 2% concentrations perhaps it's OK. But I've seen photos of horribly damaged skin. It was banned in South Africa 10 years ago. Check out this photo: . Maybe this woman used high concentrations for a long time or something. I don't know, but my point is to be careful with it. |

That's frightening. I used Obagi Clear for six months once and it worked wonders. It has 4% hydroquinone. My derm recommended it. My discolorations returned this past summer, and I, once again, just started on the Clear again a few days ago. I apply once per day just on the areas I'd like to see fade. I planned to use it for a month or two. These side effects were never shared with me and he happily handed over a fresh bottle to me. |
