30 minutes max start to finish ... "normal"
1. aspirin/yoghurt mask or DHCC
2. shower ... where I rinse off #1 plus shave legs, arm pits and wash hair.
3. tone
4. vitamin C serum
5. JB DermaExcel7
6. hydrosol spritz & drop of jojoba for moisture
7. mineral makeup foundation, blush, finishing powder.
8. eye shadow & liner [sometimes mascarra], lip stain
9. final spritz to "set" makeup
10. finger style hair.
Note: If I have to blow dry my hair, add another 5 minutes onto this as my hair is quite short.
The above is my basic day-to-day routine ... but when dressing up or on a special day, it doesn't really take much longer. I can usually do everything in 30 minutes.

OMG...how can you ladies finished everything in such a short period of time!! It takes me around 1 hour to finish everything in the morning and I don't even put on a full makeup. Here's what I do every morning:
15-20 mins - to brush my teeth and wash my face. (and I don't even use toner! )
10 mins - moisturizer for eyes and face
5-8 mins - to change
3 mins - put in my contacts
4-5 mins - curl my lashes
10 mins - just to apply concealer ONLY
2 mins - to apply lipgloss
10-15 mins - for breakfast
This is the fastest I can get. I know it really consumes a lot of my time and I always have to wake up an hour & a half early at least every morning. That really takes up my sleeping time. And same as at night before I go to bed, it takes me awhile too. If I wash my hair, it might take up to 2 hrs sometimes. I've been doing this for yrs already and I don't know of anyway to speed things up...sigh...so that's why I'm always either late for school or work or dates or whatever... |

Hey cbrooke - were you just wanting a makeup routine, or the whole shebang (shower, hair, etc.)?
Anyway - as for makeup, one of my reasons for surrendering to the man behind the MAC counter was to learn what to use and how to use it, assuming it would go faster. And it did. I have 6 "stages," each of which is about 3 minutes, give or take a few:
1. Cleanse, tone, firming peptide lotion, and moisturizer.
2. MAC concealer and foundation, both cream, with a MAC brush (blends faster).
3. 4 eye shadows (under the brow, inner lid, outer lid, and crease - in that order).
4. Eye liner and mascara (upper lids only for day), brow pencil and brow brush.
5. Bronzer, blush, shimmer powder.
6. Lip conditioner, lip liner, and lip gloss. |

I just counted my make up time for the poll. From start to finish (wake up to out the door) it takes me 2 hours to get ready in the morning. I know it seems like a lot, but I am a bit slow, and I like to relax. As well, I have to let my actives sink in a bit, and then my sunscreen has to sit for 30 minutes before I can get out the door! |

If I count the time I spend on the face it's about 10-15, but total time is about 30 mintues
Wash either dermalogical dermal clay/ janson beckett cleanser or nv perricone ala/dmae wash
Face
101E acne lotion followed by vitc cream or dead sea moisturiser or today Johnsons holiday skin for the face, or just my aveda tinted moisturiser.
Eyes
Janson Beckett Okusil or ADCE
JB derma7 on the eyes
While these various layers are drying I get dressed. Fanny about with what I'm taking to work for lunch, making a fuss over the dogs.
If I feel I need extra coverage I use Guerlain crewe foundation, if I'm in a rush I use the poweder.
Tinted lip gloss in the coat pocket. Only occasionly do I wear a full face to work. No one else does. |

I am totally surprised that everyone gets ready so fast I usually get up about 10 after 7 and out the door by 8 am (including coffee) so I don't take that long either, but I also don't put on any makeup |

oi.. about 15 minutes.
brush/floss (5-6 mins)
wash/moisturize face (ddf/ddf+jojoba oil) (2 mins)
apply ji concealer (1 min), be/ji mix foundation (2 min), nars blush (less than 1 minute), curl lashes & apply clinique mascara (less than 1 minute) (sucks, too poor to get another tube just yet - planning to buy benefit badgal badlash)
chapstick or be gloss and i'm finished
however... it takes me 25 minutes in the shower, at least, to wash my hair, condition, sponge every inch of my body (i don't feel clean all over if i miss a spot), shave (careful to get every place from the knee down and not to knick myself), rinse conditioner, end scene - sometimes i soap myself up again after rinsing conditioner just so i don't feel like i have conditioner residue coating my body.. and i'm not even ocd, i swear
and then it takes me at least another 25 to do my hair.. i have long thick hair which i blow dry and afterwards i either straighen it just to get the frizz out (takes about 7 minutes, tops - part of the 25 min, not on top of) or curl it (10 minutes - part of the 25, not on top of) |

I typically spend under 10 minutes getting ready in the morning:
1 minute to brush teeth (Hydrogen Peroxide or Weleda Salt Toothpaste)
1 minute to wash face (Dr Hasuchka Cleansing Cream)
1 minute to apply toner/moisturizer (Dr Hasuchka Clarifying toner or homemade ACV toner, Dr Hauschka Normalizing Day Oil)
2 minutes to brush hair (I use my favorite Mason Pearson brush and I wash it in the evenings)
3 minutes to apply mascara (Dr Hauschka or Ecco Bella) and lipstick (Ecco Bella), and occassionally eyeliner pencil (Dr Hauschka) and/or eyeshadow (Ecco Bella) |

Umm ok let's see. Wake up, drink tall glass of water, moisturize entire body with Cocoa oil, followed by sunblock on any exposed areas. Wash my face with ProActiv, Apply a AHA 12% Ceramide Hydrating Gel. During the winter rub a dab of Olive oil, followed by Oil of Olay complete defense spf 30.
Let it soak in, followed by tinted moisturizer, YSL Touche Eclait highlighter under eyes to wake them up. Eye shadow base to frame my eyes, powder eyeliner, curl the lashes, 1 coat of mascara and light blush. All in all, about 20-30 mins. Cannot wash hair in the morning, it's too thick and too long for that. So I always wash it at night, it speeds things along in the morning. But I only wash it about 2x a week.

The idea of spending less than 15min in the morning to get ready to face the world does not even compute in my head!
15min - just for shower (no hair washing)
5min - tone, moisturise, eye cream and get dressed while letting it all sink it
10min or so to decide what combination of clothes/shoes/accessories to wear and to put them on
3min - teeth brushing
And then makeup which can taken anywhere between 10min - 30min. I like to take my time with things and play around and a lot of the time I completely lose track of time because I get so engrossed in what I'm doing.
Then 5min to fix up hair.
So.. you can guess my answer was "more than 30min" |
