Yes bring on the overpriced ranges
It's feels like a green-white clay based base (like a typical pale green clay mud mask) with exfoliating beads inside. The only difference to normal exfoliators is that it's not a cleanser based (i.e. foaming or gel cleanser) but a cleansing mask based; and the exfoliating beads are shimmery diamond powders and squashed quartz particles.
I massaged this on cleansed and damp face in circular motion, then left it on my skin for 15min (it also acts like a cleansing mask). It dried fairly quickly without making my skin tight, and u can see all these glittery shimmery particles on the face
Then i added a bit of water to my finger tips and massaged again, then rinsed off thoroughly with water.
My skin appeared to be more refined, smaller looking pores and smoother texture. However, i suspect it's because the clay/mud base never rinses out completely so the residue on the skin actually appears to smooth out the complexion (similar to result of Mario Badescu silver powder and osmotics skin refining masque).
I thought it was a bit plain for the price...(75USD a tube). But nevertheless, a decent cleansing mask and exfoliator in one. |

Wow... sparkle.. you spent USD75 for it.. I'd only tried the sample tube which can last for almost a year. (Anyway I don't use is often, that's why hehehe... )
I feel the same thing as you. My skin is more refined and clear after using it, all the dead skin, dirts are removed. But don't think it can be use too frequent as there is diamond particles inside so it's too strong for the skin if using too frequent. |

I have it, I like it.. but..
It can scratch the skin if you rub a bit over enthusiastically - need to be VERY careful near the eyes.
I found you have to cleanse thoroughly after using it because it does not rinse off properly - very hard to get rid of the "diamond dust" and the clay residue. I could see white powder around the sides of my nose even after cleansing. Had to use my Eve Lom cleansing cloth to get rid of it. |

At first I didn't really want to like this product due to all the hype and it's ridiculous price tag but I really it as it truly works! Now I really look forward to my twice weekly home sessions. This has cleared up my blackheads within 2 weeks of regular use. It is not abrasive and leaves me with a fresh and clean feel. Doubling up as a mask is a real bonus and time saver for me For girls with combo skin with oily T zones, I highly recommend this. HTH |

All the talk of La Mer over on the Skin Care & Makeup Forum had me drag out my tube of The Refining Facial again - which I had not used for ages (have only been using the Epidermx for months).
Tonight was the first time I tried it as a scrub/mask and it was quite nice. I made sure my skin was just damp, not dripping wet and did a nice massage but not too hard - to do the "scrub" and then once I had a white face and was well scrubbed, I could feel it starting to dry so I stopped and left it to dry totally for about 10min. It did not dry too hard, but was a soft dry, like the Decleor clay masks.
I softened the mask with a wash-off cream cleanser, rinsed and then cleansed again. After that I STILL had to get out the Eve Lom wash cloth and rub around my nose to get rid of all the clay from my pores. S
o, my only complaint still is that it takes a lot of effort to rid the skin of the clay and diamond dust. My skin did feel very nice though! But I dont think I would repurchase it given the price... |

I've got a sample tube of this too and agree with y'all. It does leave the skin smooth and soft, but my gawd, getting rid of those "sparkles" drives me nuts
