Dear Melasmaisew,
You want to lose some fat? Who doesn't?
The good news is that maintaining a healthy body is no secrets since a long time.
No, diet pills are NOT the answer!
Starving the fat is NOT the answer!
The secret is a fast metabolism. ANYBODY can higher their metabolism, doesn't matter if you are 18 or 78 years old.
Here are the basic rules:
1. Weight training (Start with one training/3 times each week)
2. Eat a small meal (that contains protein) every 3 hours
3. Drink lots of water! (Around 500mL and 1L/each hour)
That's it. Your fat will be burn in no time and your body will look way more sexy thanks to the muscles and you will have more energy
Have a good day,

Bob's advice is good I think. And in addition to the weight training you'll get a fab aerobic workout running to pee every half hour after all that water
(sorry - I couldn't resist ) |

It depends if you are active or not.
1L/hour is for athletes and/or person living in a warm place.
For a sedentary person, 500ML/hour is really healthy.
The trick here is to drink throughout the day, rather than drinking large amount of water infrequently.
Drinking 2L or more in a hour can be life-threatening even for serious athletes. |

diet pills can have a *small* effect if you don't do anything. They are more likely to have an effect on your mood which in turn leads you to be more active. If you want a cheaper version get a great big cup of expresso then hit the gym. |

Yeah seriously I'm all about natural methods to things and a good cup of Java even if it's some skim milked or soy cup of Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts at least gets you out the door and walking. The other recommendation here was sound. It's so true. I'm a little on the fence about all that water, I always say listen to your body, when you're thirsty drink, when you're not let your body do it's thing. Walking, deep breathing to burn fat, 5 small meals a day (sometimes more), protein (chicken is great), pilates, going out clubbing, laughing, green tea or the natural green tea pills, apple cider vinegar and a cup of java will give you results no diet pill could match and they're all natural. |

I agree with most of what simplykei and the others have said. Small meals containing protein are great. I do believe in lots of water it is very good for the immune system and helps weight loss(plenty of studies on weight loss and skin, add a twist of lemon or lime drink greem/white tea hot or cold). I lost 40 pounds 2.5 years ago doing basically this (and not eating anything with a high glycemic index). I also was regular with Pilates but haven't been so good lately.
The great thing about doing it this way is that you learn new habits and the weight stays off (somethimes I bounce up 5 pounds like on the holidays but I know in 2 weeks I'll be back down I can wear college clothing from over 20 years ago!).
If you must use pills just take the ones that are basically soluble fiber. At least they can't hurt u. |

Diet pills do not provide a long-term solution because they don't encourage good habits and are potentially dangerous. I have seen people's personality change on diet pills because they are essentially "speed." I have also seen serious cases of * spam alert *.
Hate to sound soap-boxy but it's something I have strong feelings about.
There are tons of sensible alternatives to weight loss, including what folks have posted here.
I also believe strongly in listening to your body. I always find that my weight settles at a good place the less I worry about it, and when I eat not to "please myself," but only when I am hungry. I have also read that you should never deprive yourself entirely of things that you enjoy. Moderation is the key. If your body is craving sugar, there might be a valid metabolic reason.
And I can't stress enough (broken record playing...) of the benefits of yoga, alone or in combination with another exercise routine. It has been well studied that yoga encourages your body to work at its optimum, including your metabolism.
Okay, I'm done. Somebody shut me up. |

Hey LandB: I don't believe that giving in to cravings is necessarily a good thing we've got to get out of the addictive behavior patterns. There are many studies showing that sugar basically acts as a drug activating pleasure responses. In excess however it hardens arteries and leads to diabetes the major epidemic in this country today.
If I eat sugary things (and yes I do sometimes) I take Metfomin to help couteract it or otherwise my blood pressure will go out of sight and I'll end up with permanent Type II diabetes.
Yes desserts at a fancy restaurant once in a while are fine even for me but a diet high in sugars and white flour leads to diabetes a more horrible killer than heart disease because your vision is affected, you get periferal neurapathy, ministrokes,it lessens the flexibility of blood vessels, wrinkled skin etc . this really affects the quality of life. About 10% of Americans over 45 have diabetes and about 10% more are on their way there with insulin resistance. You can tell if you are at risk by looking at the results of your latest blood test. Nearly every routine test includes triglycerides if it is 150mg/dL you have a problem.
P.S. Yes high glycemic index diet is correlated with level of wrinkles at a given age although the strongest factor is heredity. |

I lost 20 lbs in 20 days from the new gastric bypass pill. My testimony was sent in and you can view it here at the bottom of the page at this site
www.nameyourpriceandbuy.com
It fills me up quick and I hardly eat much. When I do eat, I put healthy foods in my mouth.
It's been the only thing that has really worked.
Good luck |

Seems like evryone is anti-pills but if thet is what you need to motivate yourself and the ingredients are not harmful, I say go for it....it's like people who recieve placebos but somehow end up getting better --- the mind is a very powerful tool and if you think it is helping you lose weight maybe it just will
I saw an ad for Smart Burn in a magazine and it looks interesting, also SlimQuick seems to be a popular one. |
