I recently purchased my second MAC nailpolish. I have to say that I REALLY like it. It's a thin formula so it doesn't gum up like I found Essie to. It dries fairly quick and doesn't chip easily.
I first got the colour golded in september for a wedding and I LOVE it. It's a sheer gold colour that makes nasty nails look nice (believe me, I had acrylics put on for a wedding and this stuff looked good once I took them off)
Last week I got a new colour, Delicate Balance. It's a pretty metalic pink with golden undertones. It's a bit more flashy but very pretty too (I did tone it down with a coat of golded over it for lunch with my bf's grandma).
So for $11 you get a good polish. I like it much better than OPI, Creative and Essie. The colours are also way better! |

I like MAC's nail polish a lot too Very nice consistancy and dries pretty.
I also like OPI but I never bought one myself, usually manicurist put OPI on me. |

I've bought OPI and they're always great for a bit, and then they gum up on me.
MAC is easier to put on for me... |

Hi Lianne - I'm glad I logged on - I was looking at MAC nail polish yesterday -- the colours were just amazing -- I decided not to buy because I was worried that it might be crap -- but I'm going definitely going to pick some up now!

How is MAC's lasting power? I'll have to check out the MAC nail colors next time I'm at the counter. I like OPI, Essie and Zoya, but the one brand that has staying power for me is Orly. When I need a manicure to last a week, I use Orly. With any other brand, I have to touch up or re-do after two or three days. I'm hard on my nails, and I hate the look of my hands, so I polish frequently. |

Debra,
I've never tried orly, but I can say this stuff lasts longer than the other brands I've tried. I do 2-3 coats. It's been about 5-6 days now and I have a few chips on the tips of my nails that you don't notice unless you look up close (and i'm wearing the bright pink colour) |

I have to say that I experienced the exact opposite with my one and only foray into MAC polish. I bought the shade called "Up Mode," which was a gorgeous gorgeous frosty pinky-peach, but the stuff was so thick that I couldn't apply at evenly to my nails. I ended up having to add like 25 drops of my OPI thinner to it before the consistency was thin enough to give me half a chance to apply it! For me, Essie polishes seem to have the thinnest formula (which I prefer), then Lippmann Collection, then OPI. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but my experience with it made me afraid to try any additional MAC shades.... |

Carrie,
We don't seem to be agreeing on anything lately!! My formula wasn't thick at all.
did you try to return it? |
