I just recently noticed that my top lip is soooo much skinnier than my bottom lip....looks like I am pouting all the time I was wondering if anyone has had Restalyne injections to plump up their lips?
How many ladies out there have had Botox...I am really starting to consider it strictly as a preventative measure before I am stuck with some serious frowny wrinkles |

I've had Botox a few times for the fret lines between my brows. It works, but the effect only lasted about 4 months or so. I recently received the free JB DermaExcel7 offer and give it a thumbs up for smoothing these lines -- it works for me, so I'm not sure I'd try the injections again unless the lines get a lot deeper than they are now.
I think it was Pudoodles who had her lips done with this particular injectible last summer. You may want to do a search to be certain (it was posted in the Lounge section). I'd like to hear an update from her as to how long the effect lasted -- I've had collagen a couple of times and it wasn't worth it for me. The price and pain, along with the transience of the plumping left a lot to be desired. |

I have had restylane injections 3 times, mainly to get rid of smokers lines around my mouth, First time it never worked at all, 2nd time my lips looked lovely for all of 3 weeks, 3rd time hardly any difference. It does not last as long as the people selling it say, I have hardly heard of anyone where it has lasted more than 3 months so unless you have the money to keep getting it done I wouldnt bother. I am now trying Brow Tox and Renova instead..
Take a look atwww.makemeheal.com for loads of info on their restylane forum... |

My first post.
Last week on the TV show extreme makeover a lady was having here lips injected. The doc said it was a new product called Radiance, and that it lasted a couple of years. I'm positive that is what I heard. |

I haven't but my friend regularly has perline (sp?) which is a similar product and it lasts for about 6-8 months I think.
Welcome Katie
I have read about some stuff that lasts for a couple of years as well, I think they make it from your own tissue, but I can't remember what it's called |

I get Botox for my crows feet about 3 times per year and I love it! As a matter of fact, I just had it again last wednesday. I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the paralyzing effect lasts longer each time I have it. My derm injects 5 units around each eye at a cost of anywhere from $300-350 USD.

Actually, I think I've read in more than one place that if you keep up with botox injections, the effects last longer. Good deal given the cost! |

does it work better than violox, not sure if I am spelling it correctly. Where are your wrinkles and how much has been decreased? |

Hi 1naturegirl - Thankfully, I don't have wrinkles, only some fine lines, and occasionally use JB DermaExcel7 on the two verticle lines between my brows. I've never tried another topical of this sort so I can't compare. I was always pleased with the results I got from Botox, though. If you can afford it, it's worth it especially for deeper lines. It also had the pleasant side effect of helping my migraine headaches (not completely, but in the region it was injected).
As far as Radiance goes (the filler mentioned above), I've heard some bad things about it, i.e., that it can cause granulomas (little bumps) to form under the skin. This may be no big deal for certain parts of the face, but I'd be quite upset if it happened to my lips! |

Retylane is one of the reasons I came back to this board! I wanted to see if anyone had used it for wrinkles. I like that it is not animal product... but now reading how it doesn't last, I'll be looking into the Perlane... and also never heard of Brow Tox or JB DermaExcel7... so many choices!
Also, I just posted on another thread about my Botox experience, but please everyone reconsider until they stop doing the lethal testing on innocent animals for EACH BATCH!
Here's a link about the testing http://www.hsus.org/animals_in_research/animal_testing/the_beauty_myth_botox_kills_animals/ |

There are different types of the restalane filler - touch for very fine lines, restalane (can't rememember the spelling!) for slightly deeper line, 'perlane' for deep lines, and restalane "Vital" for filling broad areas such as under eyes.
I have had restalane on my 'mule' lines round my mouth and between eyes frown lines and touch on forehead. The "Touch" made no difference but the restalane has been great (although I only had it two months ago - so not sure about it lasting)
Have seen good effects with the perlane on others. I can't help with the duration - think it varies from person to person. I would be scared of Botox - not keen on injecting poison into my skin. |
