Primavera Gentle Cleansing Fluid
Description
Natural Balance Cleansing Fluid contains a mild, sugar-based surfactant that gently removes traces of dirt and makeup and leaves skin smooth, silky and clean. The nourishing, pore-minimizing cleanser restores a youthful radiance to skin.
Ingredients:
Water, Jojoba Oil*, Glycerin, Decyl glucoside, Plantago, Cetraria islandica, Salix alba, Alcohol, Pomegranate Seed Oil*, Grape Seed Oil*, Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate, Sodium stearoyl lactylate, Stearic acid, Xanthan, Rose Water*, Parfum**, natural Vitamin E, Apricot Kernel Oil*, Lactic acid, Sallow Thorn Oil* *certified organic **blend of pure Essential Oils
This is the best milk type cleanser I have ever used. It's the lightest and definitely the most gentle cleanser. It rinses of clean and I can't stop touching my skin afterward because I've never had skin so soft from a cleanser. This is very comparable to Dr. Hauschka's Cleansing Milk in all aspects - texture, feel and ingredients. However I find Dr.H to be second best as Primavera rinses slightly cleanser and my skin is softer than when using Dr.H. But my skin feels extraordinarily comfortable after using both. However I prefer Primavera's ingredients more so than Dr.H as Primavera seems to have more hydrating and antioxidant properties. Dr.H is better in terms of pricing by almost exactly 50mL of product. This is not including the extra discounts or gifts offered by EDS. I really wished EDS would carry Primavera. I don't think I'd ever stray from this cleanser as I find my skin a lot more clear and bright after using this cleanser (not changing any other aspect of my routine). My pores are less clogged and my skin is generally more hydrated. It really gives me a "glow". I honestly never thought a cleanser could give me this much but I this one.
Primavera Refining Exfoliating Cleanser
Description:
Cleanse, refine and polish your way to younger looking skin
Natural Balance Refining Exfoliating Cleanser is a mild sugar-based cleanser that cleans and exfoliates the skin. Non-abrasive beads of Jojoba wax gently remove dead cells, revealing younger, smoother, more radiant skin. Rich organic plant oils infuse the skin with moisture and impart a natural glow.
Usage Notes:
who: all skin types
why: clean, fresh, exfoliated skin; tighter pores; anti-aging benefits
how: Wet skin. Apply 1-2 pumps of cleanser to the palms. Dilute with a small amount of water and press the cream thoroughly all over the face and neck. Take care around the eye area. Do not rub as this can stretch the skin. Rinse off with water.
Ingredients:
Water, Jojoba Oil*, Jojoba Wax, Apricot Kernel Oil*, Polyglyceryl-3 Stearate, Plantago, Cetraria islandica, Sage (Salix alba), Alcohol, Glycerin, Stearic acid, Pomegranate Seed Oil*, Grape Seed Oil*, Sodium stearoyl lactylate, Decyl glucoside, Lactic acid, Parfum**, natural Vitamin E, Xanthan gum, Sallow Thorn Oil* *certified organic **blend of pure Essential Oils
I have replaced my Dermalogica Microfoliant with this and I'll NEVER go back. This is a miracle exfoliator and does everything the Cleansing Fluid does PLUS exfoliate my skin gently with jojoba beads. That is because is this basically the Cleansing Fluid + jojoba wax (if you compare the ingredients). But it's exactly what I need and I don't mind paying the extra 10CAD knowing I'm only getting extra jojoba beads This leaves my skin hydrated and soft, something I've never had with an exfoliator before. I also find myself using my weekly peels/exfoliators much less when I'm using this. I also don't even exfoliate everyday anymore as I used to because this does such a good job. I finally understand how important having a hydrating cleanser is because my flakes would only go away temporarily with other exfoliators. This was because my skin was getting dried out by them *especially with the Microfoliant - dried me out even more than my old Proactiv cleanser! Now my flakes are not only being exfoliated but the dry patches are HEALING all due to both these cleansers. They both rinse off quickly and leaves NO residue at all. I may even be able to do away with toner because my skin feels so plump and soft!
The only gripe I have about it is I can ONLY get them at SaffronRouge and the huge price tags that it entails. I think they might even be more expensive than Valmont type cleansers because you only get 100mL for the price tags. Cleansing Fluid - 37CAD
Exfoliating Cleanser - 46CAD
Both are in glass bottles which are not too great for travelling but they come in hygienic pumps with a little plastic topper so it won't spill even if you take it travelling unlike other pumps which you have to decant into flip-top bottles. I find that you need only EXACTLY one pump and it's already enough for your whole face - great design being able to easily dispense the right amount. Not to mention both products smell wonderful. These will probably be my HGs forever since I don't have a reason to try anything else |

I have combination skin - I'm getting to know my skin more and more from the products I use and I realized my skin is a bit dehydrated right now. I used to be very oily which is now pretty balanced by YY oil that I'm using other oils to alternate with. However my skin is very irritated due to acne, it's not sensitive to things like acids and such but I'm very acne-prone and sometimes when I get angry acne my skin feels very irritated so right now my skin prefers more soothing products to heal. I'd have to say these 2 products can fit absolutely ANY skin type. Primavera also uses some sort of re-cell technology through its ingredients (more info can be found on SaffronRouge) so it's great for mature skin as well. My skin is overall pretty clear at the moment (hope I dont jinx it) and only have 3 zits which are irritated due to my BAD BAD picking (I REALLY gotta get rid of that habit! ) Apart from that I really think these cleansers helped clear my skin and rehydrate + soothe it. I saw a noticeable difference in the brightness and clarity after switching to these cleansers (I was trying to use up my old stuff before). I honestly can't imagine anyone NOT liking these cleansers. I used to avoid milk cleansers at all costs and though my skin needed foaming cleansers for better cleansing ability and BOY was I wrong! My skin was just dried out from all those foaming cleansers and thus my constant breaking out from oils that could not surface. Now I don't know how I'll live without these cleansers. |

sormuimui,
Hi! Thank you for the response. My skin type is definitely like yours, used to be oily and now sometimes dry after washing my face, feels tight. I'm using too many products and clogging up my skin so I'm breaking out. I checked out the SaffronRouge site but notice that GoddessofSpring (U.S.) or something like that also sells this brand but a little cheaper than SaffronRouge.
Are those the only two products your using? I was wondering what kind of toner, moisturizer and eye cream your using. I'm sorry if I'm asking too much. But I just want to be able to find a product that will be compatible with my skin. Thank you again! |

qisme615: I buy off SaffronRouge mainly because I'm in Canada so the free shipping comes in handy. I don't like purchasing off US sites just because of shipping charges and additional customs fees I have to incur. These are the only 2 products from Primavera I'm using. I have used a sample of Primavera's toner and it's nice but I don't think it's worth the price and I don't like the fact it SMELLS like of alcohol due to the plant-derived alcohol in it. I currently use Earth Science's Clarifying Herbal Astringent which I alternate with Earth to Body's Facial Toner - both are pretty cheap and you can get Earth Science at your local health store. Earth to Body can be found at www.earthtobody.ca
My full routine can be found in the routine thread - basically I am using Vit C, Oxygen Replenish (Zenbiotic), YY Oil (which I mixed in a few other oils myself) sometimes I alternate with Camellia Oil or Zenbiotic Phyto-Moisture, I am also using Escents Aromatherapy Acne Gel (HG). I also use ISC Active at night and Phyto Corrective Gel AM + PM after my Vit C and Active. My eye gel is currently Cellcosmet Eye Gel - I only have hereditary puffiness, no wrinkles no dark circles. However Cellcosmet has not done much for me so I will not repurchase. Next on my list to try is Sothys Eye Tensor Gel and Jurlique's Eye Gel.

Yay! Another Primavera convert! For awhile there I thought Redhead and I were the only big fans of this line. I absolutely love Primavera and have used it and recommended it for years. I love the ingredients in the products, the scent, the way it makes my skin feel and look, and the company philosophies, not to mention they have the best and most complete line of Essential and Carrier Oils around. The only thing I don't like is the price tag at Saffron Rouge, it can be a bit pricey (if only they gave member discounts like EDS) It is absolutely, hands down one of my favourite skin care lines (the other being Dr Hauschka). I remember receiving some samples from Saffron Rouge a few years ago after I placed an order on Dr H and I was completely hooked. I began to use the line almost exclusively until I ran into EDS this summer and found such great prices on Dr H. But I have to admit that if EDS started selling Primavera I would definitely go back to using the whole line and stick to Dr H for cosmetics and masks. Please EDS try to get a contract with Primavera so we can buy the line from you! |

After coming back to this thread to check out responses, I went to the Saffron Rouge site to check out the Primavera line once again. I remember filling out a customer survey a while back and one of my suggestions was to offer member discounts or better sales and specials etc. so I was hoping to find some new things on the site as well as hopefully reduced prices. Well imagine my surprise when I noticed that instead of implementing lower prices and incentives, I found that the Primavera prices have now gone up yet again! The Refining Exfoliating Cleanser is now $50.50 CAD and the Gentle Cleansing Fluid is now up to $42.00!! But that's not all, the whole line has gone up in price. Ouch!!!! I thought that as the line became more popular and with more people buying the products that the price would go down a bit but, it's sadly quite the opposite. I'm shocked. I'm even more glad now to have found EDS and am glad that I made the switch to using the Dr Hauschka line exclusively before discovering these price hikes. It's really disappointing to fall in love with a line to discover later on you can no longer afford it so I commend Dr H and EDS for keeping pricing consistent and affordable while still offering excellent ingredients, fantastic results and globally conscious business practices. |

I just made an order a week ago! I can't believe they raised the prices TODAY! The line is getting very very expensive, even more so than the cleansers from the other expensive brands like Cellcosmet or Valmont. Even the prices of the oils are up! |

I went to Saffron-rouge and got a sample of the Primavera exfoliating cleanser and I love it. I alternate it with Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream. I'm getting samples of other Primavera products with my next order. I use a few Weleda products like the face and lip balms (for outside in the winter). |

You can also find Primavera at: http://www.kathlina.com/OUR_BRANDS_s/92.htm
They have not raised their prices and it looks like their prices are around $3-$5 less per product. They are based in the US and offer free shipping for $75 or more. We have bought their a few times and have been very satisfied with the customer service. |

These cleansers are wonderful...thanks for your review. I normally don't place an order till I'm finished my old stuff ...but I didn't expect to receive my order from Saffron Rouge so fast-2 days! Anyway, once I tried the cleansing lotion, my old cleanser was unceremoniously chucked. I always thought a cleanser just cleansed & spent most of my $$ on treatments, but this stuff changed my mind. Your skin feels so good you almost don't want to put anything on top. Great stuff. |

Can you use the Refining Exfoliating Cleanser if you have very sensitive skin? I've been reading really good reviews on Primavera products and been dying to try them, but I haven't found a website the delivers to Thailand |

I would suggest you get a sample of the Exfoliating Cleanser first - I find that when I do a lot of extractions and my skin is inflamed and irritated it would feel a bit harsh - it won't make my skin worse but it's not as comfortable to use when my skin is already hurting from the acne. However when my skin is irritated the Cleansing Fluid seems to help soothe it. I'm not sure how sensitive your skin really is but if you are okay with using other manual exfoliators then the Exfoliating cleanser shouldn't be a problem - I just wouldn't use it on broken skin. It has the same soothing milky base as the Cleansing Fluid. Also the instructions on the Exfoliator tell you to do the press and lift instead of scrubbing anyways - but I prefer scrubbing lightly (I asked SaffronRouge reps and they told me it's ok as long as I'm not rubbing hard on my skin) so if you have sensitive skin perhaps you can do the press and lift method. |

Hi sormuimui,
Thanks! I don't have acne prone skin, but my skin is very sensitive and reactive to external factors (like products, sweat, sun, dust, etc.) and I occasionally have eczema breakouts. When my skin doesn't agree with a product, I get red irritated bumps all over my face, but they do go away in an hour or so. I don't get pimples from it, but it's rather annoying and I don't think it's good for my skin to go through allergic reaction every day. However, I would still give it a try when I can find a place to order it. Does the product come in a glass bottle? |

Yes it does come in a glass bottle. I think you should give the Cleansing Fluid a try first (unless you're looking for a scrub). I'm no expert but I don't think you should be using a manual exfoliator during the times you are having an excema breakout. Also if you do not have a reaction to the Cleansing Fluid you will not likely have a reaction to the Exfoliator because they are the same thing except the Exfoliator just has added Jojoba beads. |
