Hi All,
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I am wondering what is a good sunscreen for my face that I can buy from EDS. I am currently using MD Formulations but hate it!
Another question - can you wear sunscreen over the top of your moisturiser? I read somewhere that you can't but have heard elsewhere that you can. Anybody know for sure?
Thanks for all your help! |

Is that the MDF Total Protector one? I can't remember which version I tried (SPF15 or 30) but I didn't like it either.
Now, what type of sunblock are you after? Tinted? Non-tinted? SPF15? SPF30?
In answer to your other question, yes you can wear sunblock over your moisturiser. You'll find different info on this depending on whether it's sunblock or sunscreen (in the original meanings of those words - I think they are now used interchangeably). Purely chemical SPF products (sunscreens) were supposed to be used first so that they could absorb into the skin. Sunblocks (physical SPF products) were meant to be used on top as they simply block the rays. This may have changed now as the technology improved (I was told about this years ago). That's my very basic understanding of this - hopefully someone else will chime in and verify/deny/correct this.... |

Thanks Mabsy. I'm happy to go with a basic untinted SPF 30. After buying the MD one and not liking it so much, I think it's best to get a recommendation. |

I like the Skinceuticals Ultimate one. It is a bit thick but it disappears into the skin very nicely - though I just checked and EDS doesn't seem to carry that anymore (?). There's also Jan Marini Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF 30 - I just recently got a sample of that and it's very nice. Another possiblity, Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Sunblock SPF30. I haven't tried it but according to reviews it's light and gets absorbed quickly. I'm sure you'll get plenty of recommendations from others though... |
