Hello Everyone!
I know EDS does not carry the "La Mer" line and never will but I must tell you my story. I have been contemplating this line because I have tried EVERYTHING on the market for my finicky, sensitive skin and nothing worked - absolutely nothing!! I figured I must've spent hundreds of dollars if not more on products that were soon discarded into my "beauty product graveyard." So, I went to Holt Renfrew and talked to the La Mer specialist and I bought the "New Beginnings" intro set of La Mer products for normal/dry skin. You get: very good size of cleanser/toner; serum; eye cream; the lotion; and a regular size (30 ml) of the famous moisturizer in a beautiful carrying case plus some wonderful free samples. With taxes it came to $425.00. I nearly fainted, but I expected this price.
I am completely amazed by these products and they are worthy of all the hype. They are "miracle products." My face has never before responded so speedily to new products. The cleanser just melts away makeup without any irritation. And, that miraculous cream leaves the most delightful glow to the skin and leaves your face super soft even after it is washed off. This is the best product line I have ever bought and worth every penny I plunked down for it. |

I've been using the cream and the lotion as well (cream at night and lotion during the day).
It started innocently enough with a sample *sigh* I used it for a few days (I was feeling really tired and run down at the time) and people commented on how my skin was looking lovely. Even my boyfriend noticed! That of course meant that I had to buy it!
Fast forward to a few hundred dollars later...
After using it for a few weeks I can say that it's not really anything special. It makes a big difference when your skin is having a 'blah' kind of day but with regular use I don't really see much improvement. So I will be using this a few times a week to give my skin a boost. I do believe however that this could give fantastic results for some people because it did for me when I my skin was icky while I was sick. But seeing as I don't really have any major porblems with my skin there isn't really a dramatic difference. I want to try out the Decleor line now, the aromatherapy side of it fascinates me! |

Hi Mabsy,
I'm so glad to hear your honest opinion of La Mer. I do believe that it just isn't for everyone and it is extremely expensive. Although I do like it I don't know if I will re-order any of the products. I just wanted to try it (which I'm glad I did) but I don't know if the results (although good for me) justify the immense expense of the products. But, it's fun trying new products. Anyways, I enjoy ordering from EDS and I find their prices extremely reasonable. And those lovely free samples......what a great way to try new products! |

Hi Leeleedeedee
I'm like you, it took me *ages* to try La Mer but I have always wanted to. I knew that if I didn't it would always bug me, so I went for it (especially after people's comments after I used the sample). I'm really glad I tried it. Because I don't use it everyday anymore it will last me a long time. But I will not be repurchasing it, there's so much other stuff to try! I've just discovered this site and I'm guessing EDS and myself will have a long healthy relationship |

Hello Abbey,
EDS simply means Essential Day Spa, my favourite place to shop on-line. I will check out the website you provided. |

I used to be a la mer-aholic. 2nd bottle of serum and am on my 3rd jar of the cream. However, lately I seem to get red bumps around my mouth when I use it. I stopped using it then re-introduced it in daytime, but got the red bumps again. So I've been using it as a neck cream and will probably be my last bottle/jar. Unfortunately I've found Cle de peau's La Creme which is even more expensive with nice results as a night cream. Apparently my sensitive skin has expensive taste! |
