I'm really getting very desperate. I have two major problems.
First:
A red nose. I don't know why. The rest of my skin is fair with the exception of pimples. I though it might be Rosacea (a sking disease with similar symptoms) but the doctor I went to didn't say anything of that kind. I have *a lot* of blackheads on my nose (which may be causing the redness, perhaps by blocking pores). Skin is mostly oily but if I try to make it drier it only gets worse - the skin automatically produces more subtance to make up for the difference.
As for my 50+ blackheads on my nose: whatever I try, they keep coming back. I tried those nose strips, manually getting them out with my fingers, a chickpea mask, aloe vera juice (an anti-inflammatory natural product) ...NOTHING has helped. And doing/testing/using this stuff just contributes to the redness.
Second:
Red leftovers of old pimples that just won't go away.
Help with either of these problems is greatly appreciated. |

Try Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream, the press and roll method really cleanses the pores without being too much of an irritant and it get rave reviews for clearing blackheads.
Follow this with Carekates Apple Cider Vinegar Toner recipe found on this thread:

This is fantastic for oily skin, blackheads, red & inflamed skin.
At night I would only use the cleanser and toner so that the skin can regulate itself and during the day try following with Vitamin C Serum, then either Dr Hauschka Normalising Day Oil or Jojoba Oil works in the same way - controls sebum production. |

I have this problem somewhat. The strips worked for about a day but the blackheads returned so quickly.
The best thing I have used so far is Mario Badescu Silver Powder. It amazed me because on me it worked so well. I use it about once a week at the moment. |

I second the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream - continual use of this should keep your nose blackhead free or as close to it as possible. |

I have been given a prescription by my dermatologist for Avar-e, it is made by Sirius. They have two versions, one is green and the other is the one that I use Avar-e (E for emollient). I apply it once a day at night to my entire nose. As it is also for Rosacea, it may help with the redness, too. I have sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and this has been very effective for me. I am 49 years old and have had a blackhead problem on my nose for ages. This cream applied once a day has removed almost all the blackheads. The key is consistency, washing twice a day with a gentle cleanser and wearing sunblock religiously every day. The cream has 10% sodium sulfacetamide and 5% sulfur, in case you have an allergic reaction to sulfur i thought I should mention the two reactive ingredients. |

Definately try Dr. H Cleansing Cream or Jurlique's Face Wash Cream. You may also want to get a sample of Decleor Ylang Ylang oil. |
