Hi everyone!
I have found that alot of products and actual places mentioned (shops, salons, etc) are located in the U.S.A.
I thought it might be a useful option if I started a thread where Torontonians or anyone from Canada can make product suggestions, etc.
Just a thought!

The facialist's name is Sherry and she is excellent!

Hey Toronto Belle, good idea, I cant say that I know of any really good Canadian products yet, because well I don't use a lot of expensive products yet. But its a good place to post them and I'll remember to mention products/places here in the future. (Although I'm from the other side...BC!! ) |

great idea! i live in toronto, so all or most of my suggestions will be for toronto.
i've been going to a very excellent facialist & aromatherapist called simone. her company is aromaterrapeutics at eglington & bathurst. www.aromaterrapeutics.com
she makes her own products...organic and/or biodynamic and she does dr h. facials.
there is also elixir spa at king & bathurst which has a great selection of natural treatments & products.
www.elixirspa.ca
i really like treking out to the big carrot on the danforth for products and knowledgable staff. they have a great selection of really great truely natural products.
also around the danforth, acqua-vita has a wonderful and trustworthy selection of organic essential oils & hydrosols.
www.acqua-vita.com
if you want to do some diy recipes, herbie's herbs at queen & bathurst has a very good selection of bagged herbs, vitamins & some oils.
that's all i have for now... |

I love Ritual on King Street for a great manicure and pedicure ... I heard their waxing was awesome too.http://www.ritual tan.com.
Also, Stillwater Spa on Avenue Rd for a massage and to chill out on a cold winter day. Nice jacuzzi, steam and showers.
I checked out the new Hammam Spa on King too, utterly freaking gorgeous but still a bit of a building site.
And I really want to go to GEE Beauty for an eyebrow shape and to get my makeup done.http://www.geebeauty.com/geebeauty.html. Has anyone been?
Otherwise, PIR http://www.pircosmetics.com/ is a cute beauty store chain for boutique products. Delineation http://www.delineation.ca/style.html on Yonge and Eglington, is FANTASTIC for hair and skin care
And, when I want to have a wee tan I like going to Ra-Sun-Spa on Richmond and Spadina.
I will let you know if I can think of any more faves! |

My favorite place to get my hair done (wash & dry, flat ironed, colored, etc) is Capucci's Salon and Spa in Bloor West Village. They don't have a website, but here is their info:
416-766-0296
2254 Bloor Street West (At Runnymede)
Toronto, ON M6S 1N6
I see Jessica B for all of my hair colouring needs and my auntie has been seeing Athena for...wow, at least 7 years and was the one to recommend Capucci's to me.
The salon itself is very well designed and decorated although it can get a bit warm insdie during the summer. The employees are young enough to be hip (lol) and old enough to know what they're doing and do it well.
I highly recommend either of these ladies for color and Guiliano for a cut and blowdry- he's excellent!
I had my eyebrows re-shaped and acutally they were professionally shaped for the very first time in July. I had always done my own brows and to be honest, now that I look at myself in the mirror and see what really sophisticated and appropriate brows look like, well I am just thrilled. Very flattering Her name is Maria and she is great! Really knows what she's doing and is very informative aswell.
Tell them Valerie C said HELLO! |

For those Torontonians interested in purchasing Dr. H products, I just remembered that Sephora has opened two stores in the city.
-Toronto Eaton Centre and Yorkdale!
The prices are reasonable and the product list is GREAT!

Dr Hauschka is also available at Baldwin Naturals (on Baldwin Street, between College and Dundas and between University and Spadina) and I have also seen it as Noah's Natural Foods (Yonge and Charles street- south of Bloor).

I shop in Toronto also and go to some of the places that you have mentioned. I just got my hair done and I am not happy that I had to keep a close eye that the job was getting done. I asked for all over highlights and she did half of my head and then left me...I called her back and asked her to finish my hair.
I used to go to Port Credit called Bamboo but it is impossible to get an appointment with Edwin and I am fed up of waiting and my hair growing out. (I am really into up-keeping my looks)
Please share with me any place you have gone and do you reccomend them?
Thank you |
