I have pretty dry skin and am looking for a good moisturizer for everyday use. I dont want something that causes pimples either since i am prone to acne. Thanks |

Check out smartskincare.com. I was looking there the other day and they rank moisturizers as good/fair/excellent, etc. I actually found out that my cheapo Ponds Dry Skin Cream is an excellent moisturizer, so I've been using it at night when my skin needs extra moisture. Jojoba oil is also ranked as excellent. There are many inexpensive items if you're just looking for moisture. |

I've never had a HG product before this. I absolutely adore Dr. Hauschka's Rose Cream and Firming Mask. I have tried so many moisturizers that will hydrate my skin and keep it moist throughout the day, and this is the only product I have used that does this. This keeps my face moist and has eliminated the daily mid-afternoon tightness and dryness that hits, even after a careful morning skin care regime used to try to avoid this. I use the rose cream every morning and the firming mask three to four times per week. These products are very emollient, so I don't know how well this would work for those who are prone to breakouts. |

I second what debra says! The Rose Day Cream and Firming Mask are great! Also, the Rejuvenating Mask is VERY nice! |

I did last night! I don't usually though. I put the rejuvenating mask on and was too lazy/tired to take it off so I went to sleep with it on. Skin looked nice and radiant this morning - a previous mark after a recent pimple looks less red. Lovely stuff! Will use it overnight more often now |

Have you tried Orlane's Extrait Vital Emulsion? Nothing I tried before absorb as well. I think Mabsy likes it a lot too. One down side is that the scent is pretty strong. |

I do need some type of moisturizer on my face at night. As with Mabsy, I have slept with the firming mask on, and if my face feels particularly dry, I use the rose cream.

I've read that there are two types of dry skin--dehydrated, when the skin is normally not dry but goes through periods of dryness. Supposedly, dehydrated skin is temporary, caused by environment, hormones, stress or a facial procedure or product that causes dryness. Apparently, truly dry skin occurs when sebum is not produced. Signs/symtoms of truly dry skin include smaller pores, no breakouts and premature wrinkles and sagging of skin due to lack of oils that are normally produced by the skin. I have also read that this type of dry skin can be hereditary. I have truly dry skin. I don't experience flaking, or peeling, (except when I'm using retin-A), but my skin feels tight and dry and those pesky lines are more noticeable when my skin is not plumped up with moisture. I load my face with layers of moisturizing products in the morning and by mid-afternoon, my skin feels tight and uncomfortable and my fine lines are more pronounced. The Dr. Hauschka Rose Cream is the first and only product I have used, in my years/decades of searching, that maintains a decent moisture level in my skin from AM to early evening. I also use a variety of oils (my fav right now is squalene) that penetrate the skin more deeply and also helps the Rose Cream melt into my skin, instead of sitting on top. And because the Rose Cream is so emollient, it takes very little to cover my face. I love this stuff! I'm still using my Vivier 20% C serum and Alphaderma in the AM, before I moisturize, and Alphaderma at night. So far, it appears to be a good combo for my face. However wonderful these products are, I'm sure that I'll continue to search and spend money on other intriguing creams, serums and balms that are out there! (I'm now trying to find a good hydrating spray I can use during the day if I need a boost of moisture.) At least I now have a base set of products that I can count on to work for my skin.
(oops....sorry for the lengthy post!) |

The Orlane emulsion is for normal/combo skin. I think it is definately okay for acne prone skin. I haven't had any break outs. It absorbs so well and just leave the skin feeling silky |

I really like this one - it's *so* light and easily absorbed. I think it's for normal/combo skin as Wild Cat stated. I think it *should* be fine for acne prone skin just because of how light it is, but I am not totally sure.
Re:scent, it is scented but relatively to most other Orlane products the scent is quite light |
