Yup, yup, still piling through my long list of reviews to do... here is another:
At US$70 for a 3.4oz tube, The Hand Treatment is cheap by no means. Price-wise it is right up there with Valmont (4.1 oz for CA$100 on EDS), but nowhere near as expensive as Cellcosmet (CA$164 for 1.7 oz on EDS) - which is twice the price for half the amount.. ( Hmm.. I should try this ) Jurlique by comparison is US$47 for a 4.1oz tube (on their website) - which on a comparative volume works out at about 1/2 the price of the La Mer.
But I digress, this review is about The Hand Treatment....
When The Refining Facial and The Hand Treatment first came out in Japan, I received an invitation to go instore to have a "hand facial" and massage plus get a free sample tube of each. I bought the hand cream the same day and later went back for the Refining Facial.
This hand cream is wonderfully scented (the one line whose fragrance does not annoy me is La Mer... I just love the smell of this hand cream and also "Creme de La Mer"), It is quite thick and a creamy balm, rather than being a lightweight cream. A little does go a long way, but I like to give my hands a bit of a massage when applying it, so I use a tad more than required. It is a lovely texture for massaging!
It vanishes into the skin easily and does not leave any greasy trace. I have this on my desk at work and apply just once a day. My hands do feel like they have a "barrier" on them, but I can't say I notice any significant lightening of some of the sunspots/freckles, though I guess the tone has improved a bit. I think you would need to use it 2 or maybe 3 times a day for such an effect. It is effective on lightening if used in conjunction with The Refining Facial (you can see an immediate effect after one use, so I guess that would build up over time - I am just too lazy to do them)
There is a fact sheet about the product available through gloss.com (http://www.cremedelamer.com/pdfs/lm_22TW.pdf)
The closet I have ever used to this cream is the Jurlique Rose Hand Cream (I dont think that has lightening properties though) as it is equivalent in texture, delightful fragrance and feel on the skin after application.
Anyone else ever tried this? |

wouldn´t mind having a fancy hand cream...but as yet I have managed only to treat my face to special treatment - if I start on luxury for the rest of my body I'll be bankrupt within a week ![Shock](images/smiles/shock.gif) |
