I had been wanting to try using DHC Cleansing Oil on my scalp since I am a fan of DHC's Head Oil. The Head Oil is $17.50 USD for 1 oz and the Cleansing Oil is $24.00 USD for 6.7 oz so there's quite a price difference.
I used the same instructions for the Head Oil by pumping a couple of squirts of the Cleansing Oil into dry hands and then massaging for 3 minutes on a dry scalp, rinsed with water, then followed with shampoo and conditioner. What I got was the same shiny, fluffy, silky, but very clean hair that I get with the more costly Head Oil. No more DHC Head Oil for me! This weekend I will try it with my MAC Cleanse Off Oil. BTW, I have fine, short blonde wimpy hair and using an oil cleanser really perks it up and always looks fabulous on the day I use it. As a matter of fact, this is the only time my hair looks fabulous! I try to do this atleast twice per week.
If you'd want to take the time and trouble, you could probably order an emulsifier from the personal formulator and use your own oil.
Here's the ingredients for DHC Cleansing Oil:
olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, tocopherol, phenoxyethanol, propylparaben, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil
and here's the ingredients listed for the Head Oil: olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, sorbeth-30 tetraoleate, panax ginseng root extract, tocopherol, stearyl glycyrrhetinate, propylparaben, arnica montana flower extract, arctium lappa root extract, phenoxyethanol, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil, quaternium-51

Cheri,
Just the other day my mum (77) was telling me about how when she was a kid her mother used to massage olive oil into their hair and scalp before washing (she might have even said the night before they washed).
I think I will drag out a DHC sample and try that since it would wash out easier than regular olive oil.
Cheers! |

Cheri,
That's for the great idea. I have a bottle of VSW cleansing oil that I can't use on my face. Shall try it on my scalp and see what happens ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Is your hair colored or hi-lighted? |

Mine is hi-lighted and it hasn't dulled the color at all.
