I use foundation from Clinique, it is a powder that is "clarifying" and I also use their Acne Solutions concealer mixed 50% with Mary Kay TimeWise moisturizer for combo skin as an all over coverage foundatsion.
How is this affecting my skin and what can other foundations do? Is there something better I could be using? I do notice some breakouts after wearing a full face for a few days, how can I avoid this? |

You need to clean out your pores after wearing make-up. Do you use Dr. HCC? Cosmetics may be pore clogging sometimes or you can try Mineral Make-up. There are many good reviews on this forum so do a search. I hope this helps. |

You know liquid foundation clogged my pores. I'm a mineral makeup convert and love the line Aromaleigh. They're a small company so you can only buy it from their site. Aromaleigh.com. I was gonna go for Bare Escentuals (can be found at Sephora) but I tried it and I think the Bismuth in their ingredients caused little bumps on my face. If I were you, I'd buy a sample of mineral makeup to try. It does a good job with coverage and leaves you feeling like you're not wearing makeup and most importantly, it DOES NOT clog your pores. Good luck!

I can't wear liquid foundation at all, it just does not like my oily skin one bit and primers dry my skin out.
I prefer using a pressed powder and just dust over my skin using the Jane Iredale Handi, (the correct brush makes all the difference).
I use MAC Studio Fix and only when I'm going out somewhere special. Every day I only put on a little concealer and some blusher.
I think it's from all my teenage years wearing foundation and having clogged pores and that feeling that you have a mask on your face, I always vowed f my skin cleared I'd let it beathe and go make-up free.
Have a look at trying some mineral make-up samples, a lot of people on the boards swear by it and even claim their skin has improved whilst wearing minerals. |

I've been using Bare Minerals foundation for the past one year or so successfully, to stop shine and acne - however it took me a while to figure out that the mineral veil was not helping my particular condition. I now use the foundation without the mineral veil, using the Sonia Kashuk retractable travel brush, to excellent results. |
