I received a spam email advertising a product called Deception. It is supposed to make your wrinkles invisable. It said Demi Moore, Goldie Hawn, etc uses it. Have any of you tried it and if so does it work? It is not cheap so don't want to throw my money away on a useless product.

I haven't actually heard of it but couldn't help but laugh at the their choice of brand name. Isn't "Deception" a particularly bad product name considering that it is being advertised (partly) through spam? |

The reason I was tempted to look at it was that I have been looking for a product that would even for a few hours make any lines and wrinkles I have left after using great products, appear less evident, while I continue to work on them with great products.
I believe in Argireline and Vit. C, aloe, etc., but isn't there also something (besides concealer) that sort of fills in the lines... even if it's only for a few hours. I don't work outside the home, so I don't need something that keeps it hidden for 8 hours and most things won't, but for just 3 or 4 hours at the most?
I've seen a product that made lines disappear almost instant, but everyone complained about how after about an hour, it began to peel off and others that makeup doesn't go on well over.
So, come on girls, if you know of any magic, don't keep it to yourself. I want to know about it!

I saw this Ad on Deception also. Personally, I think it is a scam! Look at their website http://store.yahoo.com/fdbuy/decept.html. There does not seem to be any contact information. They state they used to carry it in stores and people stole the product. Give me a break. No way am I giving in to this one. |

I did a search on Deception wrinkle cream and there were several for sale on e-bay. Full size for $32 and 15 day supply last bid $13.99. There is also a product called AirBrush that says, "If you love Deception, you'll love AirBrush eye cream." But, the ingredients in AirBrush are just basically eye cream with emu oil. I think IF it does actually work, the thing with the light diffusing "nanoparticles" would be the better thing to try. Not sure I buy the bit about nanoparticles though.
Don't know if I buy their statement that the naked eye can't actually see the wrinkle, just the shadow of it or something. That sounds like "seller talk" to me. Boy, I surely wish I and the rest of the world could be blind to my wrinkles.
I think I'll try the Lumene at Eckerd's first.
I wonder too, if the mineral veil from BE wouldn't do just about the same? It's somewhat light diffusing.

I think the nanoprisms are a bit much, it makes me think of StarTrek I think this would be one of those products that you'd have to sample before you buy. http://store.yahoo.com/fdbuy/decept.html |

Judy,
Maybe if we made everyone look at us through a "soft focus" lens - ya know, like Barbra Walters uses when she's doing those all important interviews with celebs - first it's a cut to Jennifer Anniston where the film is crisp and clear, then you cut to Barbra Walters and she's all fuzzy and soft focus-y!!! Voila - you can't see any of her wrinkles! (Of course I'm sure she's had some kind of surgery)
I'm really just starting to notice (and hate) my wrinkles, as I'm pretty lucky genetically with my parents good skin.
My big problem is hyperpigmentation from too much sun. I have two spots on either cheek that seem to get bigger in the summer and fade kindof in the winter, tho I have been diligent about sunscreen this summer.
I've tried countless products - including superskin, prescriptives, lancome, immaculate correction, at home microdermabrasion, vitamin c., etc. etc. but nothing seems to really be showing a difference. I wonder if the Alpha Derma would help? Any suggestions?
Oh, Judy, i'll be getting in touch w/ you regarding the masque -- cant' wait!
Thanks!

I'm with you Maria! Oh that the world could see me through a soft focus lens.

Hi! I ordered Deception for my mother in law. She's 67. Much to our dismay, the product didn't make the wrinkles invisible at all. It was also very expensive for the small jar you receive. Save your money... this is just another gimmik to make us think that we can actually make wrinkles disappear! By the way.. do any of you know of a good drugstore brand night time moisturizer. I find tat some of the outrageously priced ones are no better than some of the drugstore brands. |

Doesn't seem like the DECEPTION people are going to do very well.
Glad I was not suckered in on that one. Thanks God for this forum. |

Maria V.,
For the dark patch, I would recommend the Murad product for hyperpigmentation. I've tried them all and this one has worked best for me.
I like alphaderma for the lines forming on my forehead and between my brows. |

Skin Addict -
Thank you for the advice!!! I JUST ordered the SC Phytpo+ today - but will definitely keep Murad in mind. I hate these spots - and to think, I so loved being tanned in the summer. Why oh why is something that makes you feel and look so good so bad?????

I just thought I'd let ya'll know...I was one of those that did try "Deception"...
The thing about me is.. I really don't have alot of lines..I have mostly what I've noticed to be some droopiness (does anything help that?)
I believe it is suppose to diffuse the look of fine lines and I think it very subtly did.
I think, perhaps,it may have to do with the difference between fine lines and deep lines as far as how well it works..
It does come in a small jar...but it is recommended that you use it sparingly. After 2 months I still have almost a full jar.
The other good news is that it does disappear and it doesn't flake and it did not irritate my skin (the way Hydroderm seemed to).
My main problem is like Mariav...the sun spot problem on both cheeks(where I use to tan so beautifully)..
It does not diffuse that. |

Maria, The sunspots are best removed by a dermatologist. I've had this done twice. The first time about 8 yrs ago, and then about 4 yrs ago. They spray something on the spots. (I think it's called liquid nitrogen) and it freezes the spots. They develop a crust, which isn't attractive, but in about 2 weeks it's all cleared up. The first time I went, I don't think it cost anything (insurance paid) and the second time, I think I paid $120 (I don't know why), but it was well worth it. These are considered pre-cancerous lesions, that's why insurance might pay. I hope this helps |
