I'm always on the look-out for my 'holy grail' - an eye cream that will moisturise, get rid of dark circles and fine lines and really keep the underneath of my eye hydrated ALL day
- I have bad under-eye dehydration even though I drink plenty of water! ).
I'd love to read about your likes or dislikes, your miracles.....or disasters .
Maybe my 'holy grail' doesn't exist in the exact form I need - or does it?
Have you found yours or even made your own? |

Decleor Vitaroma eye and lip cream. So far it has minimized by fine lines, flatted persistent milia under one eye, keeps my under eyes well moisurized all day, and gets rid of puffiness fairly soon after application. I can't speak to darkness under the eyes because that's really not a problem for me as long as I get sufficient sleep. |

I've tried many (not necessarily long term through samples and from friends) and none did "everything". I'm looking forward to trying a new one by PSF that will be available soon. I'm ordering it as soon as it is available and will post when I've used it for a few weeks. |

I'm awaiting EyeBright from EDS. I'll let ya know how it works when I try it out for a few weeks. I'm looking to get rid of dark circles. |

Hi I am new to forum, wanted to let you know about 1 product I have found that will get rid of undereye circles- Jan Marini C Esta Eye Contour with DAE complex. Works unbelievably at getting rid of circles, but not for hydration or crows' feet. And its a weird consistency so you can really only wear it at night. For day, I use the eye cream in NuGlow, works great for me, is not too heavy.
I have heard that the regular Creme de la Mer works well under the eyes, but havent tried yet!

I don't think I have found an eye cream that does absolutely everything. Still, I love the Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream (best!), and also Babor Sensational Eyes, and Thalgo Revitalising Eye Cream. Murad Essential-C is great for an eye cream with SPF. I was rather unimpressed with Dr Hauschka's Revitalising Eye Cream
I just started using a very generous sample of the Z.Bigatti eye cream. It's nice and thick so I'm taking it over to Europe with me as it'll be cold. Not sure what I think of it yet - haven't used it enough. So far it hasn't grabbed me like the Cellcosmet did after just a few uses... |

Hi Mabsy - yeah sorry about the double entry I made. I thought I may have placed the thread in the wrong forum so copied it into another.
Thanks for the replies everyone - I suppose it's a bit too much to ask of the cosmetic companies for a cream that does 'everything'.
I keep hearing about the Cellcosmet eye cream you mentioned Mabsy.
I can deal with my dark circles but I hate the lines. The fine under-eye lines I've got are far less noticable when I immediately apply a moisturiser but as soon as the cream sinks in (very quickly) the lines reappear - all crepey and horrible. This is what made me wonder if the lines were dehydration lines rather than wrinkles. If this is the case then I think I need an eye-cream that is very hydrating. Is the Cellcosmet cream the best for this?
I know fluid intake is very important for skin and I do drink quite alot of water but maybe I need to drink even more . |

Careful not to overhydrate...it is possible!
I remember seeing people recommend the royal jelly eye creme by Burt's Bees a while back...is that an eye cream that people would still recommend? I put off using one long as I could but I think I'm now in the market for one too... |

Hi, I use Cellcosmet Eye Contour Cream( it is one of the best), and also Valmont Eyes and Lips Cream. I think Valmont is more
moisturizing then Cellcosmet. I just order Dr. Haushka Eye Balm. Will let you know if it is also good. |

The worst is Okusil
The best Juvedical Eye Serum for puffs and bags but does not fix lines. Others I like because they are light but have not used long enough to know if they will work on lines are Juvedical eye cream, IS Clinical Eye Complex and Teamine. |

I agree with Bushy that Okusil is the worst. It took me weeks to recover to my pre-Okusil state!
Lots of forum users rave about the Cellcosmet line. I tried it and I agree that it has a lovely texture and feel, but as far as results are concerned, I was thoroughly unimpressed.
I had been using Teamine and was very pleased with the results. Then I tried the IS Clinical Eye Firming Complex. (I use Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0 under it several times a week.) At first, I thought it was okay, but I wasn't bowled over by it. However, after using it for quite some time as I have, I've got to say that the results, especially when combined with the Skinceuticals Retinol, are inarguable. My eyes have looked this good since I was 25!
I've heard raves about the new Juvena Juvedical eye product. Since using the IS Clinical line, NOTHING has tempted me, but I always seem to be willing to try a new eye product..... |

Hello katee,
I use Skinceutical Retinol 0.5 on my face, and I already purchased 1.0 to use later on. I think its doing amazing job to my face so I am wondering maybe I should start using 0.5 on my eyes and move on to 1.0 for my face. Do you think that's a great idea? What effects retinol have around the eye area? If you don't mind me asking, what age group are you in? I would love to have the skin around my eyes stay as young as possible |

The best I've used is Teamine Eye Complex. I got that from my dermatologist about a year or two ago and used it all up (that doesn't happen often).
I also really like Olay Regenerist Eye Serum. |

My skin is used to actives and very resilient. With that said, I can only tolerate the Skinceuticals Retinol 1.0 2-3 times per week.
I've always taken good care of my skin, and since I've been using the IS Clinical stuff, my skin looks better than it ever has. We were looking at family photos over Thanksgiving, and I was BEYOND flattered (read deliriously happy) when my (younger than me... bf said, "How come Kate is the only one in these photos who manages to look younger than she did 10 years ago?"
To answer your question, Wild Cat, I'm about to turn 45. I'm a strong believer in prevention, but I also don't believe in overtreating one's skin. You CAN overdo it! Do you really need something has heavy duty as the Skinceutical Retinol 1.0???? It really is strong stuff! |

Hello Katee,
I think I "overdid" to my skin. I was using 0.5 and MD formulation's illuminating serum every night for a while. I thought my skin could tolerate it because I didn't experience much peeling. But, last night after I washed my face, my face felt like burning and I realized I had a lot of small peeling everywhere. I didn't use any retinol and AHA last night but any other soothing emulsion and cream I put on my face burned. This morning, I can see where the new skins are because they are slightly red.
Now I definately learned my lesson, I won't start retinol and AHA again until the burning and peeling subside. And will definately rest my skin at least every other night. And now I definately don't think I will apply 0.5 around my eyes |

I have tried a variety of eye creams across the pricing spectrum. The best one for me to date has been the La Prairie smart cream. It does a great job hydrating the skin around my eyes and dealing with fine lines. Love it! |

the worst eye cream for me is definitely dr. murad's moisture silk eye gel. it does NOTHING. AND its bloody expensive!
my favourite eye cream of the moment is prescriptive's intensive rebuilding eye cream. its great for anyone who is really dry under the eyes, especially during the winter months! |

I am still looking for my "best" eye cream, but here is what I have tried and what I thought.
Cellcosmet: did not like the scent. I also felt it did more to give me fine lines than prevent them. I hope to get another sample though and will try it for a few nights during winter (last time was summer)
Thalgo eye cream: bought and used once. scent was way too strong,.
(note on both these products. I put them away in a cool, dry place - and well sealed - but when I came back to them a couple months after opening they had "shrunk" and almost looked like they were off. So I would suggest using them up as quickly as possible)
La Mer eye balm: no complaints, but no great raves other than it was super hydrating and even smoothed out a little keratosis I had near my eyebrow. I have also used Creme de la Mer very sparingly around the eye without any problem.
MD Formulations Vit-A-Plus - cannot say it has done anything fab for my eyes, but it is a bit dehydrating if used too many days consecutively.
Decleor eye firming serum - I did not like this at first but now am warming to it! Can't say there are any miracles, but I will use it up.
JB Okusil - again, quite like this for summer as it is light. Has had no ill effect on my eyes but did not do anything wonderful that I could see
JB eyelid serum - keep the eyelids moist. still have fine lines at inner corner of upper lid though, but no crepey skin.
La Prairie Vit. C - did nothing good but did nothing bad
Epiderm Dermabutter: moisturizer but light enough to use as eye cream. had no trouble with it and kept eyes hydrated. hubby still uses it all over his face including eyes.
Next up on the long long list of trials is Kinerase eye cream! Casper's Mum has such nice eyes and said it was what she was using so figured, "what the heck". |

Although I love many of Dr Hauschka's other face products, I have to say I've had problems with the Eye Contour Day Balm. It doesn't absorb into the skin, so I have found that by the end of the day, my foundation has somehow transferred itself over the balm and into my eyes, which stings! I think the Day Balm is probably a good protector against the elements, but I only use it around my eyes if I'm not wearing any foundation or makeup (and it doesn't happen very often that I don't use at least some foundation!).
Luckily the Eye Balm has another use - it's terrific as a lip balm! I use it every morning before applying lipstick, and my lips stay soft and smooth. I'm glad I didn't spend all that money on the Day Balm for nothing!
Cheers

Gerovital (the product plugged on the above post) has a bit of an underground following here in Japan.
I always thought that Gerovital was from Romania though... |

I am certainly in the minority, but my all time favorite eye treatment is Perricone Eye Area Therapy. The "therapy" consists of a vial of lotion called Alpha Lipoic Acid w/ NTP Complex and DMAE, and a vial of Vit C Ester w/ Tocotrienols. The lid of the eye lotion is also a spatula. You are supposed to put a dab of the lotion on the back of your hand and mix with 1-2 drops of the Vit C, then pat on your eye area.
I reluctantly bought this set after I saw many bad reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to try it for myself! You'll either hate it or love it, but at least give it a try if you can find samples. It has worked for me for fine lines, crepiness, puffiness and elasticity. I also don't have to worry about hydration as this does the job.
FYI - On nvperricone.com there is a special of free shipping until 12/31 plus for a limited time you can get a special combination which includes a full size Alpha Lipoic Acid Eye Area Therapy and a complimentary travel size Vitamin C Ester Eye Area Therapy, a $22.50 value. The site says the offer is valid only until 11/30 but I ordered 2 sets after that date and got the bundle. Plus you get samples Dr. Perricone's Anti-Aging Olive Oil line for sensitive skin.

I've had a hooded lid problem since my late 20s and I swear by Almay Kinetin Eye (the one in the tube, not the jar) to correct it. Smooth a drop on each eye and the hoods disappear! I'm now nearing 40 and starting to get bags, but the Almay Kinetin Eye does nothing to help the bags... |
