Hi,
What have you used to try to get it off? You could try oil (this dissolves sebum, which is your skins natural oil) remarkably well mixed with fine sugar as an exfoliant. Try olive oil, mix it in your hand with some sugar to make a paste then massage into the inground areas. Then wash with plain old soap and wate,. repeat if necessary. Do this every day until it has all come off. I have horses and in the winter my hands can get inground dirt from a day in the muddy conditions/picking out hooves, cleaning horses etc. I find the oil and sugar works well to remove any stubborn areas. You can even add a little lemon juice to help 'bleach' the area. |

Why do you think it's dirt?
I'm ethnically greek/italian, with a mediterranean complexion. When I was a kid, I used to get sent back into the bathroom all the time, because my mom insisted that I hadn't done a thorough job of washing my neck !!! laughing.....
I was a bad kid, but I was NOT a dirty one. I no longer have the problem, but I frequently either scrubbed my neck myself, or got it scrubbed. All it did was irritate my skin.
Sounds like you may have a similar problem. Before you consider suicide over this, though, buy a turtleneck |

Me too! I have a patch under my right arm that my mom thought was dirt when I was a kid. But it's a birthmark. Dirt comes off. If yours isn't coming off, it can't be dirt. Probably not a birthmark if you haven't always had it. Maybe go to a derm to diagnose? |
