I have been meaning to review this for the longest time but never get round to it. So in the spirit of feeling a bit too lazy to do some work, I will post this review instead.
I got mine from EDS and it came with: 4 packets of Vitamin C Treatment Powder, 4 packets of Pure Vitamin C Treatment Gel, a small plastic dish for mixing and a brush for mixing/application. It also comes with a 15ml/.5oz bottle of "Cellular Replenishing Serum" described as "a weightless gel restores hydration and elasticity" (dry or sensitive skin). They give no indication what on earth you should do with this serum though - whether it is just a little trial gift of something to put on after the mask (in Japan this kit comes with a 15g/.5oz Essential C Day Moisture Cream tube, not this serum).
It is a bit of a pain mixing up the powder and activator but the mask goes on easily and gives a very tingly sensation (uncomfortable the first time, but you get used to it). I have delicate skin but had no trouble with sensitivity to this mask, even though once I accidently left it on an extra 10 mins and my face felt like it was burning - but when I rinsed it off, whilst the sensation remained there was no visible redness.
I used this once a week for four weeks and to be completely honest I cannot say I noticed any visible difference in my skin after each use or at the end of the four weeks. Maybe I was supposed to use it on four consecutive days or something... My skin felt soft, but you get that from most masks... As for the serum, I was left with nearly a full bottle when the masks were done and I have now ended up having this on my desk at work and pop a drop on my cheeks or forehead during the day if the heating is getting to me. Mind you, it is a "hard" plastic bottle so very difficult to get a small amount out.. you either get nothing or a flood.
Anyway, at CA$70 (on EDS) or US$60 (on Sephora) for the kit of four treatments this stuff is pricey and to be honest I would want to see some real results for CA$17.50/US$15 per treatment!!
Bottom Line: Being brutally honest, I would not repurchase this and would recommend it better to invest your hard earned $$ on a good vitamin C serum rather than this kit. |

The serum is supposed to put it on your face after the treatment and it's for "locking the benefit to your skin longer from the treatment." I used the treatment twice and did not see any result either except swellon lips (stupid me put it on my lips the 1st time). But I found the serum has a very good hydrate effect. Just like you,I have an almost full bottle left and use it when I feel dry.

Thanks for your review tiger_tim. I looked at getting this ages ago but decided that since I'm using 20% vit C daily, I wouldn't see much difference in using a 30% mask every so often. After reading your review I'm glad I skipped buying this. I would guess that it might give some visible results to those who do not use vit C serums on a regular basis... |

wow that is a 30% mask? Actually I bought it as my "introduction" to vitamin C.. I had never used anything with vit. c in it before... so that blows that theory (or shall we go with the theory that perhaps my skin was so beautiful and perfect to start with the mask could not possibly make a difference? I like THAT theory - no matter how incorrect it might be ) |

LOL That sounds good
I'm pretty sure that it is 30%, though I'm not sure what type of vit C it has in it. |

Yes, it is 30% Vitamin C. I've never used Vitamin C before but did not see any result from this kit either. My skin is very tough and non-sensitive. Lot of time I got very frustrated because I can not see result from any product in a month and I don't have enough patience to use a product for more then 3 months if I did not see any improvement. |

I think vitamin C is best used on a daily basis to be honest. It remains in the skin for only a day or two and you want the constant protection from the elements and also want it to work its magic on any existing damage. I'd really recommend that you try a C serum instead - just a 10% one used daily gave me quite noticeable results. HTH |
