I am looking for a foundation where i can wear during the night when i go out on evenings. Something that gives me medium coverage and gives me a nice dewey glow. I was reading good reviews about Chanel foundations. Any feedback on this?

Chanel Vitalumier is a really good foundation that has a radiant look and I think the glow you are looking for. I use this foundation just for the occasions you are talking about. Chanel is good about giving samples so if you are near a counter please try it.

Oh, thank goodness! A post that isn't spam from bizhiguo9701! Laughing

I used to use Chanel Vitalmumière Fluid foundation (before I switched to JI and Era) and found it to be very good. It was very easy to apply, didn't cake and made my skin look radiant. The only problem was that it did transfer rather a lot - especially as I'm constantly on the phone through my work. I was always having to clean yucky foundation marks off the receiver! Shock

I was reading the reviews on Makeupalley.com and some ppl say that Chanel Vitalumiere fluid foundation is very oily and will cause breakouts. Any one experience breakouts from this product?

I have combination skin and I didn't experience any breakouts from using Chanel Vitalumier, then again each time I used it, it was only for a few hours in the evenings. I wouldn't use it as an all day foundation. I wouldn't say it was oily, but it is definitely not a matte foundation. I think it has silicones.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to get a sample from a nearby counter if available and try it. Everyone's skin reacts differently.

i found the vitalumiere too rich and creamy for me. my skin can go a bit oily if moisturisers or foundations are too rich. i used to use the double perfection, which goes on like a fluid foundation, but has a matt powdery finish, but recently switched to teint fluide universel.

this has medium coverage, a creamy texture, and stayed on for the day. my skin looked great!!

BCgirl, it depends on the finish you want.

if you like a matt finish, then the double perfection. i prefer this foundation if i am going out and doing a dramatic make-up job.

if you want a glow, then the teint fluide universel. i usually wear this during the day, when i wear less makeup (mascara and red lipstick.)

they are both very good, and worth every cent. good luck, and happy shopping.

I'd definitely test them if I were you.

Although I didn't experience any breakouts, I have very dry skin. There are two types of Vitalumière - the fluid (which I used) and a creamier version which is heavier (so probably not so good for your particular skin).

BCgirl,
i've just bought some chanel foundation from richmond centre before x'mas
and they cost me around $45CAD each
Vitalumiere is a tad more exp than double perfection
DON"T get the double perfection cream though (go with fluid)... its way too dry and matte

i've also tried teint fluide universel it gives a nice finish... i believe it is better for dryer skin

I am so glad this thread came up. I was searching online for Chanel Foundations last week because I would like to give them a try. I was looking at Chanel's "Teint Fluide Universel Multivitamin Natural Makeup." It's says it is a water-based forumula, oil-free, fragrance-free and SPF 15, and $42 US. I am going to Sephora tomorrow to see if that have it. Has anyone tried this one?

Well, I went to a Chanel counter at Macy's this weekend looking to purchase the "Chanel Teint Fluide Universel" Oil-Free, water-based, etc. And, the sales woman immediately pushed another Chanel foundation on me saying the "Teint Naturale" was the best one for my skin (even after telling her that I have very oily skin with breakouts). She told me it was oil-free yada yada. Well, I went home with the foundation and put in on, and now 2 days later my face has broken out all over (I usually have 2-3 blemishes on my face at one time), but this is ridiculous! I go back to the Macy's Chanel counter today and speak with another sales woman who tells me that the foundation that I purchased is medium to heavy coverage and is a moisturizing formula and is not oil-free or waterbased. I ended up exchanging it and getting the correct formula for my skin.

What gets me mad about this is that I think this woman sold me the other one because it was $60.00 instead of 42.00 which is the price of the one I wanted. I would hate to think that this sales woman is pushing this foundation because it is the most expensive in that line of products. Unbelievable!

i'm glad they fixed the problem.

anyway, i no longer take the advice of the counter staff. why would i listen to someone who applies foundation with a trowel, the wrong colour, and manages to look so bad with all those cosmetics at their disposal?...

exactly!
