Hello all
Just been going through the forum and noticed people mentioning about zinc supplements for the face. I just want to know what it does and how is it good for the skin. While I'm at it I also want to know about vitamins B50 and B100. Plus what brands would you recommend. |

Hi dori - Zinc facilitates healing, so I suppose it would help the inflamation/redness associated with acne, for example. |

I swear by Zinc. My skin is lovely, if I get any outbreaks they heal within days, as do any scars.
My nails are the longest they have ever been and strong too, they don't snap or go soft (if you go to the thread "I'm so spoilt" in EDS Loumge, I posted up some pictures of my new ring and you can see my nails there).
I had my hair cut to chin length in November, it is now close to shoulder length, in really good condition and a lot thicker too.
My sex drive has also gone through the roof and I have a lot more energy
I really wish I had discovered Zinc years ago. |

Rosebud - How much zinc are you taking? I could use a boost in all of those areas myself! I've been taking some but haven't noticed any true benefits yet. |

It might be just wishful thinking, rosebud, but I think my blemishes may just be healing faster with the zinc.
As for my libido, no comment. ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

Zinc is also good for the digestive system and I can also vouch for that, after suffering years from IBS I am now (sorry guys for being crude) having the first solid ****'s after 4 years of not
I put this down to the Zinc, I have been taking Zinc supplements now for about 8 months. |

Just thought I'd post some zinc info from "Nutrition Almanac"
Some things it says....
"Zinc is important for the proper development of the reproductive organs and normal functioning of the prostate gland. The mineral speeds the healing of wounds and bone fractures, keeps the skin healthy, and is involved in the formation of keratin, a substance in hair and nails. It supports the immune system and protects against free radicals."..."Although moderate doses enhance immunity, excessive amounts depress it. It is recommended that no more than 100 mg be taken daily." The RDA is 15 mg. daily.
I used to get sick several times a year until I started taking {15 mg of zinc} and {500 mg. vit. c} daily. And I'll double the dose around the time of my cycle when my immunity seems to take a dip. I have yet to catch a cold or flu.
I have also noticed my skin and breakouts heal faster. |
