does anybody know if enemas are good for the skin? does it really prevent breakouts? i've read about 3-day fasting and how it can cleanse your body from accumulated toxins. But i've also read, that for this to be effective, one has to undergo enema. if anyone can help, give some info about this, i'd really appreciate it. thanks! |

I think you are meaning a colonic irrigation. This is good for the skin, resulting in (usually) a fresh glow which lasts for a week or so, sometimes more. However, this can increase breakouts temporarily, as can fasting or "cleansing" the body, as any toxins which are released can enter the bloodstream in small quantities. It's a bit of a toss up whether to go for the benefits and risk a further breakout. |

i've read the same "3 day miracle" for acne which includes colonic irrigation. I don't quite fancy the idea, I find it hard to believe that your bady would rebsorb toxins from the faeces waiting to come out. If it works for you I'd really like to know...can't really believe all the "true confessions" on the website can you? |

I've fasted and I have noticed a significant improvement in my skin without use of an enema. However, the effect doesn't last if you go back to your regular diet. |

, i've seen some debates about colonic irrigation and whether it actually clears out too much from our bowels, like all the good bacteria that we need to help digest and process our food. i think with a good diet with plenty of roughage/fibre etc. you could probably achieve the same results without the dangers.
