I've read on the Skin Actives site that DMAE is great for lips. Helps with shape and color.
I've confirmed with women on the Spectacularskin.com forum that it does indeed do well. They swear it helps plump lips and mostly return the color they used to have.
On Skinactive which is a site that sells only the "active" ingredients for skin care that you mix with other ingredients to make the perfect formulation for whatever your skincare needs are. They even have "recipes" from other women to try yourself. This is a good idea so you don't waste your time on other products that have a bunch of overpriced useless ingredients. Very affordable as well.
the site recommends you use Aloe gel or sea kelp (which you can purchase from there as well) with the DMAE Barbartrate. I magine the GEL would be best for lips.
Anyone knwo of this? |

So what about DMAE? Can it help, or is it just another rub-on facelift scam? The reality is somewhere in between. DMAE won't accomplish anything approaching a well-performed surgical face lift, but it is not useless either. In fact, it may be the fist agent proven in a study to have at least some positive effect on facial sag.
What is DMAE and what does it do anyway? DMAE is a short for dimethylaminoethanol, a naturally occurring substance that facilitates the synthesis of a neurotransmitter acetylcholine. DMAE also may stimulate the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, an important component of cell membranes. Interestingly, DMAE is far better known and researched as a "smart drug" than a skin firming agent. In a number of studies, DMAE has been shown to reduce age-related decline in cognitive ability and memory. It was also found to modestly increase life span of laboratory animals. An intriguing finding in some DMAE studies was that it reduced the accumulation of lipofuscin deposits inside cells. Lipofuscin is a cellular pigment consisting of aggregated chunks of molecular waste. It tends to occur in the cells of older people. It is likely that
lipofuscin is not simply a byproduct of aging but also contributes to the aging process. Neurons, heart and skin of older people usually contain particularly large amounts of lipofiscin.
The DMAE-skin connection is less researched. It has been demonstrated that DMAE causes some degree of skin tightening. However, despite speculation it remains unclear how DMAE firms the skin -- whether by stabilizing the membranes, boosting acetylcholine, reducing lipofuscin deposits or none of the above. Whatever the mechanism, the effect of DMAE is often noticeable although seldom dramatic. Besides, even though DMAE can't fully reverse the existing facial sag, it may reduce its further progression. Some people report a cumulative effect with continued use of DMAE. |

I know after reading this yesterday I'm now applying the PSF Firming toner to my lips twice daily. It has aloe and DMAE bitirate (sp?) in it so I thought I'd give it a shot. I did notice that after I put some on my lips last night that they were much more pink, so I'll keep at it for a while and report back any buildable improvements. It's also such a gentle and nourishing product that I didn't figure it'd hurt to give it a shot!  |

no, I do'nt think Wendy is selling this...look at Skin Actives Scientific-site...They realy have things that plump out your lips etc.They sell actives that realy works

| I've ordered a number of things from skinactives. Most recently the DMAE....And I'm NOT selling, i promise! I am using it on my lips, so I'll post a review in a few weeks. |

Hi,I am new to this board.I wanted to make my own DMAE also,so I ordered from BeyondaCentury.
DMAE bitarte(sp?)When I mixed it with water,it didnt have the "fishy odor"I then asked them,why it wasnt working,he said you need 2-dimethylaminoethanol,deanol bitarate.I have been searching all day for more info.But,I am confused now.Does anyone have an answer?It would be so nice to save a little on skin care,so we can buy more.
