I would start taking MSM and Vitamin C supplements. They are recommended to be used in conjunction with CPs. You can find out how they work for skin repair on the Skin Biology website.
I am not sure what else to suggest to reverse this (others can jump in here) but I wanted to post this to those who are considering copper peptides:
When used correctly, CPs can be wonderful. It is absolutely essential to start slowly - not using every day and diluting. Never apply liberally - even when your skin is used to them. I have been using CPs for about a year and still use just the smallest amount. There is a dilution schedule posted on the large CP thread that should help.
DebM - I am so sorry to hear about your situation. |

Hi tiny,
I was nervous at first with all the reports of uglies. But I did a lot of research and took it VERY slow. I have been very pleased with the results. |
Thanks Erg,
I read where alot are very pleased, its just scary as heck to read all the Uglies ! I am glad you've had great results, that means there is hope in reversing these bad ones |

yes, members there are sensitive... to put it mildly. Most are die-hard CP users and get defensive.
I would not do a Jessners peel. Light manual exfoliation, yes. |

Foxe- i was using it for a small area of crepey skin - both before and after derma rolling . Now i have a large portion of my arm looking like crap!! Saggy - when i bend over its like loose skin hanging -Not a good look!!! I can pinch it and pull it. Other than that my arms are toned. This got worse after i started using the cps and i was clueless and used the cps quite liberally!! |
Deb,
foxe is invaluable for information on copper peptides and I have no doubt she will respond with further help!
In the meantime just so you don't think you are alone or this is irreversible, the following thread might help ease your mind!

Deb - it sounds like you used too much of the CPs too soon (both before AND after rolling) and that was even before acclimating (getting your skin use to...) to the CPs. Dr. Pickart has always told people to 'get your skin healthy first' (by building up to using CPs gradually). This would be somthing to do before venturing out doing something extreme like the rolling.
I don't think your in trouble yet. I just think your skin went into a kind of 'shock' from both the rolling and the exposure to a product it wasn't use to yet (the CPs).
I would think your skin will rebound, but don't use CPs on it just now. Maybe try something soothing like emu oil to calm it down.
Stay away from the retinoids for now too like the taz or retin A. Just get your skin calmed down.
It can take 3-4 months (or longer) to see improvements from a regular roll, so you might still see something from what you've done (in a positive manner) in a few months.
But - you're most likely in shock seeing how your arms reacted from the roll w/ the CPs and I think calming it down with either nothing (surprisingly, that's probably the #1 thing to try); or with an oil like emu oil will help it over the next week or so. Then, you just have to let nature take it's course. It will settle down and you might see some improvements in a few months (with patience).
Can I also ask - how often did you do this? Only one roll (with the CPs before and after, just on that particular roll)? Did you build up your skin with the CPs to strenghten it before the roll first? |

Hi Deb,
You've gotten some great advice on CPs from the long time users above.
CPs are not for everyone, but the mistake everyone seems to make (I have done it too!) is doing too much too soon. I think rolling them in as a starter is too much with the CP serum. Others with more experience than I have may disagree.
First, take a break from cp.
Once things calm down, Skin Biology does make a body lotion that is a milder strength, you might get a sample of that to try.(get the unscented, IMO). If your skin tolerates it, then try enhancing penetration of the CP lotion by using one of their AHA/BHA products at the opposite end of the day. Once your skin tolerates that, some people move up to using the hydroxy acids just before the CP. Once you are used to that, then follow the rolling guideslines above. Don't worry, your skin will recover from this once you take a break. Just take a break from all actives until it is better. |

Hi Deb,
Have you tried yoga? I used to do bootcamp style exercise and lifted weights heavy and light. I also did intense cardio sessions.
But, the biggest change I have seen in my body is when I started doing yoga. Power style, not restorative. My muscles are long and lean and specifically my thighs and triceps have seen the most benefits (besides stress relief and delicious meditation).
I hope that helps,
BTW - if you have a scolosis don't take a yoga class in a gym setting. Go to a yoga studio. The classes are smaller and the instructor will help you with modifications. |
