Adult Acne
It happens to every adult at some point in limeusually the night before the big
business presentation or your younger sisters wedding. While its easy to look
for immediate causes of adult acne, some might be more long-term - possibly even
invisible. Does it seem like flares pop up when you begin using a new product, be it
a cosmetic, skin care product or topical drug? Or, perhaps youve experienced a flare
after applying a highly fragranced product or essential oil to your skin? Keep in mind
that fragrances are the number one cause of skin reactions and allergies, so if you must
use them, do so in moderation.
However, you may be causing a flare all on your own. Have you started using a new cosmetic
product? If so, be sure to inform your skin care professional; bring it along to your
session if youd like, especially if you have questions about its ingredients or
effectiveness. Keep in mind that foundations, powders, blushes and bronzing powders all
can cause flares. Do you ever wear a headset, football helmet, baseball cap or other
friction-causing item, or use the telephone a lot? These could be the cause of your
flares, as well. Hormones also could play a role - more so in women than men. The best
treatment, always, is prevention. When a flare does occur, carefully think through the
past several days. Did you begin using a new skin care product, or maybe have a free
makeover while doing some shopping at a department store? Are you under more stress than
usual? Did you eat anything unusualkelp or seaweed, high-iodide products, sometimes
can be a hidden ingredient that triggers flares. Work with your skin care
professional to establish a cause for the breakout, and to recommend a skin care regimen
to help clear your skin.
Makeup Trends
Are you wearing last seasons colors? The current makeup trend is for a fresh
face, with warm colors being the focus. This look is elegant-yet-flirtatious, is
easy to apply and requires minimal touch-ups. The use of sheer shades adapts well to most
complexions, leaving a soft, transparent shimmer on the face. So, whats included in
this color palette? The use of pink or peach with khaki is big, and other key colors range
from soft to bright shades. Soft shades of shells to stones to other natural resources
complement the current fashions, and bright, primary shades, especially yellow, are meant
to he fun and trendy. Other colors to pay attention to:
For the eyes:
Mix sheer shades with demi-matte shades, and avoid frosts and dark brown mattes. Line the
eyes in a soft color, emphasizing long lashes. White, pale mauve, flesh tones, buttery
yellow, soft peachy pinks, orange, green, turquoise Hue, silver and copper are
"in".
For the cheeks: These colors range from peachy pink to flesh tones.
For the lips:
Lips are pale with a demi-matte finish or optional sheen finish. Line them with a matching
lip pencil. Colors to wear include peachy pink, earthy bronze and browny mauve.
Hitting the road with exercise
When theres a vacation or business trip in your plans, dont give up your
regular exercise. Instead, take your routine on the road, improvising with whats
around you to make those muscles work.
· Think of exercise as any available resistance. If it has weight, it
can be lifted. All telephone books, portable televisions and even gaudy lamps apply.
· When no conventional resistance is available, you can create your own
through isometric exercise. Pit your muscles against themselves.
· Most time standing could be spent walking. Youre in a long line
at the baggage counter? Take your luggage for a short hike and burn calories while you
can.
· Time spent sitting could be spent toning and building strength. Just
because your legs cant do much in that
straitjacket of an airline seat doesnt mean your arms and abs cant be
exercised through isometrics.
· Most time spent lying down could be spent being more physically
active. Any time you get a chance to lie down,
use that horizontal position to your healths advantage by doing leg lifts, abdominal
crunches, even bench presses with weights.
