Skin care helps rosacea
If you suffer from rosacea a recent study by the National Rosacea Society
reveals that regular skin care can help. In the study, 1,273 rosacea patients
indicated that 91% had modified their skin care procedures to help control
symptoms, including washing the face twice a day using the fingertips only;
avoiding abrasive washcloths; using mild soaps or non-soap cleansers; and using
moisturizers. Very few indicated using astringents, exfoliating agents or
anything to aggravate the sensitive skin.

To protect against sun exposure, 61% use sunscreen; more than 94% use topical
medication for their rosacea; 47% of the women use standard makeup; and 14% use
green-tinted makeup to help conceal the redness. Ingredients reported to burn,
sting or aggravate the skin of various rosacea patients include alcohol, witch
hazel, fragrance, menthol, peppermint and eucalyptus oil.

Attitude
The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past,
than education, than money. than circumstances, than failures, than success, than
what other people think or say. It is more important than appearance, giftedness
or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home.
I am convinced that life is 10% of
what happens to me and 90%
how I react to it.
The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the
attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past ... we cannot change the fact that
people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only
thing we can do is lay on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am
convinced that life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And
so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.

Stamp of approval
The Skin Cancer Foundation recently awarded Code Melanin-XP sunglasses its
official Seal of Recommendation, citing that the line offers maximum UV
protection and aids in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin around
the eyes, cataracts and macular degeneration. The sunglasses were created to
address the potential danger of liv rays as well as high-energy visible (HEy)
light, a hazardous component of sunlight that can lead to blindness, and are
made using a patented technology that infuses the lenses with melanin. 800-754-6490
Ultrasound for the skin
Ultrasound combines a high-touch treatment with the high-tech of the 21st
century, offering a number of positive effects that facilitate rejuvenation to
improve the appearance of the skin.
When a conventional facial massage is given, the hands provide an average of
three vibrations per second; ultrasound gives three million vibrations per
second. This high-frequency massage can help soften scars, improve skin tone and
increase skin elasticity.
Ultrasound also creates friction and increases local heat, which increases
the activity of skin cells. By doing this, production of collagen and elastin
increases, toning the skin. Increased temperature also stimulates blood flow to
the area, bringing with it more oxygen and nutrients for healing. Another
benefit of increased blood flow is an increased lymph flow, removing toxins and
waste products.
The combined stimulatory effects of ultrasound firm the skin and help breakup
scars, and counteract the factors that underlie the signs of premature aging.
Ultrasound is gentle, safe and provides rapid results. Used with an effective
home care regimen, it has become a significant advance in serious skin care.
Although ultrasound must be performed under the supervision of a physician,
discuss the benefits with your skin care professional.
