Fashion Trends
The casualization of Americans is changing the way we view fashion and makeup looks. Corporate Casual and Dress Down Fridays have created a need for Relaxed Chic in the workplace. Therefore, fashion designers and makeup artists alike are adapting their styles.
Watch for the rebirth of the ‘80s power suit— shapely jackets sporting strong shoulders, paired with short skirts or wide-legged pants in masculine fabrics, and teamed with various blouse options. Also, accents of fur on collar and cuffs, pin stripes and sleek little belts are all the rage.
Makeup this fall is Relaxed Chic with a confident edge. It’s a sexy, clean look that has a casual, uncomplicated application for daytime and added drama for nighttime. The emphasis remains on a
“dewy” appearance and strong color usage. Contouring and highlighting techniques give the face added dimension and interest. The look of a high shine face with interesting color combinations and glossy lips continues.

The Ancient Art of Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word meaning the science or knowledge of life, and is a system of medicine that addresses the physiological (body), emotional (mind) and essence (soul) needs of the individual in its efforts to balance the individual and create a state of total body wellness. Ayurveda utilizes therapies such as exercise, environment, nutrition, skin and body care, herbalism, massage and lifestyle analysis to form a highly individualized approach to prevention and
treatment of disease. This system of health and healing has been practiced in India for more than 5,000 years.
With ayurveda, everything is composed of the five elements:
ether, air, fire, water and earth. It i~ said that the nerves in the soles of the feet are connected to the eyes and ears, and that massaging the feet helps
improve the functioning of these sense organs, as well as contribute to a more balanced, healthier individual.
Within the last decade, there has been a surge of interest and awareness i~ alternative medicine—therapies that treat the entire body for total rebalancing and stress reduction. This includes ayurveda. For more information, consult with your esthetician.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a method of applying pressure to specific reflex areas of the feet in order to coach the body to rebalance itself. Different areas of the feet can be “worked” to therapeutically relieve stress and pain, stimulate blood supply and immune system, and induce relaxation.
The feet have more than 7,000 nerve endings interconnecting to the brain and the vertebral column. In reflexology, it is believed that pressure on specific areas of the feet causes an involuntary reflex to the corresponding part of the body that
can be utilized either to calm overactive areas or stimulate underactive areas.

Creativity is not just painting a masterpiece, composing a symphony or even writing a limerick. If you think that these are the only tasks that involve being “creative,” you’re confusing the product with the process. Creativity is nothing more than generating ideas. If you don’t think you are creative, there are ways to rejuvenate what you once possessed.
· Adopt a proper mental attitude—be self-confident that you can be creative.
· Get out of your rut—don’t do the same things repeatedly; eat something different, go someplace different, wear something different, read something different. Variety is not only the spice of life; it’s the source of inspiration.
· Ask discovery questions when you face a problem, ask yourself discovery questions. Play “what if” and assume different roles. Don’t ever be afraid of asking “dumb” questions.
